In 1941 in Poland, did everyone that needed protection against those that would initiate violence have the opportunity to get a government-issued document allowing them to have a gun? I encourage everyone to do research into probabilities, how many violent attacks are initiated by individuals who have their own motives, have purchased their own guns etc ... and how many are at the hands of a government agent.

Statistics show that the probability is that the attacker will be a government agent. Even though the US government would never harm any of their citizens, I fear the philosophy behind giving up the right to own/carry/use a tool that could keep me alive, and give that right to a "government" that can then make rules based on the whims of the day regarding giving that right back to me... well, that is kinda silly.

I like the video, and while the guy is not eloquent; he repeats a good point made by many throughout history... including on this forum! :)

As far as I know there has been no problem with people legally open carrying. There are a number of states that allow OC.

As far as everyone who can buy a gun not necessarily being able to concealed carry, that is true where government plays political games with the 2nd Amendment. If someone can legally own a gun, they should legally be able to carry anyway they want.

There is no evidence that gun control laws reduce crime. Even the anti-gun CDC couldn't find any evidence of gun laws reducing crime.
First Reports Evaluating the Effectiveness of Strategies for Preventing Violence: Firearms Laws
    Summary

During 2000--2002, the Task Force on Community Preventive Services (the Task Force), an independent nonfederal task force, conducted a systematic review of scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of firearms laws in preventing violence, including violent crimes, suicide, and unintentional injury. The following laws were evaluated: bans on specified firearms or ammunition, restrictions on firearm acquisition, waiting periods for firearm acquisition, firearm registration and licensing of firearm owners, "shall issue" concealed weapon carry laws, child access prevention laws, zero tolerance laws for firearms in schools, and combinations of firearms laws. The Task Force found insufficient evidence to determine the effectiveness of any of the firearms laws or combinations of laws reviewed on violent outcomes.
