Good if you have the training. But I think you need to qualify for a gun so it doesn't become like the wild west. Even mellow ppl have there moments of rage. But like he said crooks are gonna have guns or need to goo the the house to get there guns anyways

Most of my friends are into MMA, or boxing I'm the only "Gun guy". All of them pretty much dismiss guns as useless, close quaters or not. This guy has a balanced approach. I'm one of those "Big guys" in this world who started carrying a gun when I was 21 years old at the request of father. Guns are equalizers. When I was 21 the smallest guy in the bar always wanted a fight. Usually because he was not alone or had a gun. My father got tired of hearing how many times someone pulled a gun on me (So did I). At the time I was a really good fighter, but now 23 years later my gun will have to do the work.

Now I'm on a tangent lol. Good video post.

Just like the guy in the video said, we need to give more created to our impulse control...we don't see people getting road rage, getting back in their cars and running other people over. More times than not they get out and start fist fighting.

Overall I agree, though he's using some of those "facts" that have been passed around enough that people believe they're true.

Number one that states with higher gun ownership have less crime. Many of them do, but some of them don't. There isn't a clear correlation. The rates reflect population density and poverty rates rather than gun ownership rates.

Also, talking about penetration of standard versus hollow-point rounds. There are far too many factors in play during a shooting to say that a hollow point will only take down an attacker, while a full metal jacket will travel through. Anatomy is trickier than people realize.

He's also talking about qualifying, which is a nice thought, but not practical; and brandishing as defense, which is also a nice thought, but rife with issues.

I'm glad he's promoting a culture of defense, but I think there's a little bravado and trying to impress a pretty girl there.

I'm not talking concealed carry. If everyone started to OC carry then it could. Not everyone who can buy a gun can concealed carry. IMO I think gun rules should be strict. Sure ppl who OC carry on this forum also can CC carry. But I know a few ppl who should even own guns. But they get them JMO

So, basically, what you're saying is that you're an elitist authoritarian who wants to keep guns away from "those" people. Got it.

BTW Wa state is very OC friendly and I don't often hear of law abiding citizens throwing down on each other up there

I think he made perfect sense. He didn't suggest everyone should learn martial arts but that having people trained and armed would deter criminals from preying on the weak. He also said that there will always be bad outcomes but that the positive benefits would outweigh the bad. This is the real world and we can't create a Utopia with laws. He did emphasize training which is the key to any effective self defense whether with firearms, blades or other means. I didn't try to read too much into his statements.
