It‘s better to have a gun and not need it, than to need a gun and not have it.

Never bring a knife to a gunfight!

Any gun will do — If YOU will do!

YOU are the weapon, your firearm is just a tool!

The best gunfight is the one you AVOID.

You don’t win anything in a gunfight, you just get to keep what you have.

The only thing worse than being in a gunfight is losing one!

If you have to think if you should shoot, you probably should not shoot.

Only hits count. You can’t miss fast enough to catch up in a gunfight.

All you really need is one gun. If you are good with it, you will acquire more… with each opponent you vanquish.

No gunfight was ever won with a speed re-holster. Bring it out fast and put it away slow.

Plan A is two shots to the thoracic cavity. Plan B is one shot to the cranio-ocular cavity. Make Plan B count. There is no Plan C.

Headshots separate the gun fighters from the gun owners!

The loudest sound in the world is a “click” when you need a “bang.”

There's nothing like the sound of a Remington 870 racking!

Those that are normal the racking of a slide on a shotgun will get their attention.
But there are those that could care less. If you encounter one of these you better be ready to put the sight center chest and press the trigger, and rack another round, they may need more than one.

That's the sound of you giving away your tactical position.

It should be racked before the encounter, a long time before. Why face an enemy with your chamber empty? That's nonsense. If you want to get his attention, get a party horn or something.

Remember, theatrical Drama and fancy gun tactics are for the movies. Use good technique
and make follow up shots if needed. Your life is on the line.

It seems that everyone here forgot the first rule:

You should actually own and carry a firearm and have had some type of training or experience before you presume to give gunfighting advice to people on the internet.

I think a hat adjustment and a cool finger spin are totally the way to go in a gunfight.
