Seriously? WTF??

I was at one time a few years ago a Texas level 3 armed guard and a level 3 instructor. I do not recall any physical training other than side arm/shotgun qualifying at the range.

Lead Instructor; Earling 'Pete' Pederson (The Gimp) and his pal 'Heath' (Knife throwing Ninja) had all 7 of us trainees doing numerous physical takedown and handcuffing techniques. They also had us role playing scenarios where we were either armed guards with fake guns or knife weilding suspects with rubber knives.
It was during these role playing scenarios that the not so bright instructor 'Heath' (Under the supervision of Pete Pederson) 'threw' the fake rubber knife (full force) into my face from approx. 6 feet away. Don't ask me why he did it, because I have no clue. Stupid people do stupid things I guess.
I 'still' have a small bump on my head that hurts a bit when touched.
If it counts for anything, Right before Heath threw the rubber knife into my face, I was able to at least shoot him with the fake gun as I made fake gunshot noises like some 7 year old kids playing cops and robbers. ~rolls eyes~
It was a scene right out of a friggin Comedy Central movie.
That's how ridiculous this whole F'ng experience was.
This place; DFW Gun Club & Training Center, Located at; 1607 Mockingbird in Dallas, Texas. is a really sad joke as far as it's security training program is concerned i.m.h.o.

I am curious, on another thread you complained about how no one helped the grandmother at chuck e cheese and agreed with other posters that you would have shoved a chair up the perps butt, but here you did not respond. I am not being sarcastic, but I just want to know the difference, and why you did not level the instructor who hit you. I would have gone right after him. Screw the money and lawsuit.

I am not going to say I would or would not have gone after the knife thrower. I was not in the class but, there is a big difference in being in the real world and reacting and being in a "professional" training class and reacting. There is supposed to be a little professionalism on both sides of the training table.

I am curious, have they added self defense classes as a requirement for level III? This sounds like level IV or some other personal defense class that is optional. Even so, I've never seen or heard of a class that did not make student safety a priority.

I don't know if the state of Texas added self defense for Level 3 Certification or not. In California we did some 'very basic' self defense/handcuffing training but nothing like these nutjobs are doing.
I have been out of the work force for almost 6 years now because of some health issues. Now that I'm finally starting to feel better and I had some extra money I decided to try to get back into the swing of things, and then this happened.
