    Default Congratulations Iowans

Finally, now I may be able to carry when visiting my sister in Iowa with my Va permit. Can't wait for 2011!!

I just came across their new rules this morning.

Seems Iowa will be the first state in the union to recognize permits from every other state, whether they are res or non-res.

One thing I did notice, however...

It seems they will no longer be issuing non-res permits. How does that bode for peeps from Vermont?

MO and TN both honor all other states regardless of residency.

As does Indiana, if I'm not mistaken also. Hopefully, we here in The People's Republic of New York can begin some form of reasonable issue practices and reciprocity for those who live outside. I have lobbied stating that issuance of non-resident permits for hunting and target shooting only could be a huge revenue stream. Deaf ears though. Congratulations to Iowa.

And SD, AK and AZ also, it seems. Gee, I never studied that map enough. Focused too much on simple reciprocity.
