Do you have any classes coming up in SE Iowa that aren't full?
I would be interested.
I am a certified NRA pistol instructor teaching the Safety Class for Permit to Carry here in Iowa. The cost of the class is $50 per person. I am in the southeast portion of Iowa and will travel for classes, depending on the number of people attending. (Obviously I would need enough people to make it worthwhile to travel). The class is approximately 3 hours, covering safety, types of pistols, carrying accessories etc.

I do have a couple of classes coming up. I have one in Mount Pleasant on Friday, and then two in January...we are still finalizing the plans in January, but I will keep updates going on this post.
Let me guess, Fridays class is full and its during the day. :(
I just completed a concealed carry class in SC today. I go to have my finger prints taken on Monday. By the time I actually receive my permit I might have a new job in IOWA. What would I need to do if this happens?
Here is a list of FAQ for Iowas new law starting Jan 1st.
You will need to be a resident before you can apply for the new license.
If you have taken an NRA handgun class for your SC permit you should be all set for Iowas.

If you move to a county with a reasonable sheriff. There is at least one sheriff stating he will not accept training certs from any NRA instructors not on his "list". Illegal...and easily defeated...but that's what he has stated.
I live in Lee county and they are the about the worst in the state.
I think we have 79 people with concealed permits. The next county west has over 500.
That's about as unreasonable as it gets.
I am glad the law is changing Jan 1st. :)
