    Default Bumpy LEO encounter tonight

    First off, I'm in Florida.

Ok, well, tonight around 9:30 I was on one side of town and trying to get to the other side. I had my friend and her cousin in the back and they both look like they're about 12 (although they're actually much older). This wasn't a main road, it was more of a side road that parallels the main road. It's not a really bad area of town, but it has gotten more sketchy over the years.

So...we were kind of lost, and driving in circles because everything sorta looks the same. I was using the GPS on my phone, but it's only accurate "to 1500 meters" (???) which is no help at all. So we probably went up and down the road and turned around several times, I dunno. In hindsight, it probably looked pretty sketchy. We shouldn't have passed by the police station so many times.

Eventually, a cop pulled us over and said some guy in the area was freaking out that we were following him. I was respectful the whole time and gave them both my DL and CWP. Then two more cops joined, and another. They put me in the back of the car, asked me a lot of questions but I guess everything checked out, because they let me go and told us to just leave the area. They did ask a bunch of information of me and my passengers, but it was written on a notepad, not an actual form. I suppose that's in case they find us in the area again. Believe me - I'm going to avoid that area like the plague for the foreseeable future.

All of the cops seemed to be ok with just letting me go, except for one who seemed to not like me for some reason. She said she would "do everything in my power to have your permit taken away". I didn't ask questions because she seemed pretty irritated. I think she was just scaring me, but now I'm wondering whether there might be something to it. I really don't blame them for thinking we were up to something - it probably looked like we were trying to terrorize the neighborhood or sell drugs or whatever.

Is that possible to do? If there's no ticket, no citation, no charges filed, nothing...can cops get in touch with the Commissioner of Agriculture in Tallahassee and have a permit revoked? I'm wondering if I have some avenue of appeal for this if it does happen, or if I'm suddenly going to get a letter in the mail saying my permit is no longer valid.

Got any lawyer friends? Just in case... Doesn't sound like there are grounds for evoking your license. You did nothing wrong and no citations were written. Sounds like the FLEO was just sounding off, for whatever reason. Still would be a good idea to CYA. Good luck

Oh boy I would have had a field day with that whole scenario!

Don't worry, the cop was blowing hot air and trying to frighten you.
One must be wary of the mentality creating the problem or the law creating the crime.

I think if you were charged and convicted of something then you might have cause to worry. You are still innocent until proven guilty. Being lost is not a crime.

I you feel the cop was overstepping her authority you could file a complaint against her. She was probably just showing off. Still if you receive a letter in the mail in a week or so revoking your permit I would have a long talk with her SO.

Cop was overstepping her authority? Wow , that never happens!
    Seriously, file a complaint.
I would. Cops like that don't belong on the streets.

If you passed the PD so many times as you claim it never crossed your mind to pull in and get directions from them?

No mention of your weapon, were you CC? " They put me in the back of the car" If you were what was the disposition of your weapon?
This story just doesn't add up with the way it's wrote. NO disrespect but I have doubts on the chain of events.
