What town or city? He must have been a newbie!!! What a punk!!
In Wisconsin Today on the way home from coaching my high school fencing team I stopped at a gas station to get a soda. A city squadcar was parked outside in front of the building. I went in and went to the soda cases and pulled the door open and bend down and picked out a dr pepper. stood up and a city cop was standing in front of me. He asked me if I had a concealed weapon permitt (I do not, it has no got here yet) I said NO he asked me if I had a weapon on me and again I said no he told me to put my hands on the case and not to move. I did as I was told. when he put his hand on my belt tool pouch under my coat I know what he had saw then and understood what he was thinking. I carry a tool pouch with a small grips and screwdrivers they are small like the kind to repair your eye glasses. he open the pouch and saw the tools and zip them back up and said ok your good and walked away.
Ok up to this point i can see the lawfulness of what he did He was thinking I had a gun because of the bulge under my coat. but he went over to the store cashier a female and started talking to her( a young pretty girl) and said "made him **** his pants" and was giggling.) Made me very mad. But not wanting to cause a scene I walked up to pay for the soda. put the bottle on the counter and gave her the bills and waited to get the change. he was leaning back on the counter a few feet from me and was smiling. she gave me the change. He said go home and change your shorts. And I swear i was going to just walk away but she laught.
the words were out of my mouth before i could stop them. I said The badges make you a officer but nothing can make you a man. I walked out the door expecting to get in deep dodo. I could see he was very mad. i drove away thinking thats about the dumbest thing I have said aaaa (today) I got a big mouth. but he did not come after me. I am driving a aother way home for a while. Why do we males get uppity
at a women laught. dang it I was amost out. and he would have forgot it.
He was right to check me out but was not profession after the incident.
i would have just went on my way and no big deal. Now I have to drive a other route now. sometime my mouth over rides my brain. He will remember me.
next time it's not going to be pretty. well merry chrismas.

What a dirtbag.
I would call the manager of the store and the the officer's supervisor and let them know of the crappy service they rendered.
I think I would choose my battles more carefully. First off, you won't find a credible witness. Second, it's not like he'll get fired and third, you would have to find a BUNCH of different ways home.
He was an ass but I think I would be satisfied with embarrassing him in front of the counter girl, cause you know that comment did! ;)

Next time it's not going to be pretty... Ya gunna do what? Not that I appreciate what the cop said or how he acted as he demonstrated a great lack of professionalism to say the VERY least, and was a bit of an elitist, some would say he was a complete tool. Having said that, if you would be so kind as to tell us just what it is you'll do next time? Inquiring minds wanna know!
1)"When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty." -Thomas Jefferson.
2)"Imagine how gun control might be stomped if GOA or SAF had the (compromising) NRA's 4 million members!" -Me. http://jpfo.org/filegen-n-z/nraletter.htm
Um ok I think he was pretty clear that it would not be good for HIM not the officer. Hence that's why hes taking a different route.
Why are people always so ready to jump down peoples throats on this forum? The officer was the one in the wrong here and yet the internet commandos cant wait to further disrespect him. Maybe you should learn how to read and interpret simple English before you try and play hero.
You might want to study up on your law, the 4th Amendment and Terry v. Ohio, my friend. His actions are what is called an illegal search and seizure. There was nothing lawful about his actions at all.
A bulge in your coat provides reasonable and articulable suspicion of a crime being committed? Really? In today's world of iPods, cell phones, MP3 players, any and all the gadgets a person might be carrying in a belt "holster?"
But, then again, some people will claim that I am just anti-cop....
Stand in front of a mirror and practice these words until they become second nature any time you see a uniform and badge: "Are you detaining me under suspicion of committing a crime, officer?" If the answer is "no", walk away. If you think that is rude or disrespectful, then say, "Have a nice day, officer" and walk away.
