Or he could contact the owner of this website and tell him what a screw up he is for creating AN AREA THAT IS DEDICATED TO DISCUSSING ENCOUNTERS WITH LOCAL LEOs that he constantly monitors and makes assinine comments in. All he does is parrot back what some lawyer wrote in a book anyway.

In case he didn't grasp what I shouted the first two times:

IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT STAY THE HELL OUT OF THE PORTION OF THE FORUM DEDICATED TO WHAT YOU SAY YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE ANY MORE OF!!! If you need it, I can type that slower and with longer spaces so you can grasp the concept there buckwheat.
Treo IS discussing LEO ENCOUNTERS! Good gawd. I love it. Here's a suggestion for YOU. Why don't YOU start YOUR OWN forum so that YOU can control who posts and what they say? Then you don't have to read anything written by a person who has a different opinion than yours and you can simply delete their posts and ban them! No need to worry, I won't follow you to YOUR forum. Then you could discuss all your WONDERFUL discussions and encounters with LEO all you want to and even give anyone who joins wearing a badge and uniform VIP status and worship them unmolested by those of us concerned about freedom and the Constitution.

This is BS. I wasted 21 minutes and listened to this whole presentation.

This has nothing to do with casually talking to cops. The whole presentation has to do with interviews after a crime or suspected crime. It'about interviews and ways for cops to trip you up when a crime has been commited.

He specifically says that he doesn't try to make innocent people guilty, just find the guilt.

I guess if your stupid and admit to doing a crime, maybe you shouldn't talk to cops.

There is one excerpt in it that says when a cop asks you how fast you were going at a traffic stop, don't say 38 when the limit is 35.

The only thing this video proves is that you both spend an inordinant amount of time on the internet looking for reasons to a-holes.

This place has it's entertaining moments but not near as much then when you're around.

The cops tried to bully and manipulate me into 'helping them understand what really happened', in otherwords confessing to something I did not do as it 'would go easier on me if I cooperated'.
Exactly my experience as well. I have NOTHING to gain by not asking "Am I free to leave?" and not leaving if answered, "Yes". There is no benefit to engaging in non-required discussion with a police officer when I am not 100% certain that the encounter is 100% social.

I've never asked if I was free to leave during a traffic stop because, so far, every traffic stop has occurred because I knew I was in violation of something. I've approached police officers doing security at private events and exchanged pleasantries with them to help pass the time. I make it a point to exchange pleasantries with the TSA agents when traveling because I doubt many people are actually nice to them. When a cop approaches me eating dinner in a restaurant and asks me if I will step outside with them for a minute?!? No way.

I am NOT a 'left winger'. I fail to understand how by refusing to permit a search of my private affects without a warrant and not wishing to talk with police constitutes being a 'left winger'? Also how does excersing my 4th and 5th amendment rights negatively affect your 2nd amendment rights?

The other 2 times, I was asked if I was armed. I stated, yes sir. Both of them asked were it was and nothing else.
Then we had a nice discussion about my completely illegal window tint.
I have yet to get a ticket for the tint.

I maybe living a charmed life, but have no fear of police. Yes, I've meet a couple hard ass's over the yrs, yet I get let go more then get tickets.
I'd guess I have had a dozen or more speeding tickets in the 27yrs I've been driving. ???
    Maybe its my smile. LOL
The officer must ask first. If he doesn't ask you don't have to tell him. IMHO not volunteering the info on first contact is stupid.

It's very apparent you both parrot the same book/lawyer. Do you both get paid by the word from this lawyer? It's not a discussion went an absolute is spewed like he does in his origination of this thread. You BOTH seem to think that this lawyer has all the answers in a few sentences. You both will find out the real world is very different from some book because the law is different in each state and country. Or maybe you're such a staunch defender of the guy who originated this thread because you both live in the same basement. We'll never know I guess...

Show me any defense attorney with any type of positive reputation who advises us that it is a smart idea to talk to police during an investigation?

The government will certainly tell you that you have nothing to lose to talk to your heart's content. It's up to you whose advice you wish to follow. After all, I AM from the government and here to help.

Rj you are right about a lawyer helping. Unfortunately that is the only thing you are right about. In 95 I never heard of youtu e. And if you call getting pulled over for wures dragging from a trailer hitch doing soething wrong then so be it. Truth is there is no law against it but the cop cam make up whatwver he wants and recors hi wo his permissio. Can end up on more trouble. The poster never mentioned anyrhing about a gun and neither did I. Cops will twist your words if it will get a conviction especially if they know they screwed up. Only thing that will help will come after the fact. Btw dickhead this firum is open so I can post wheree ve r I want. Troll such lmao such a keyboard warrior

Nobody here is being paid by a lawyer. While laws differ by country we are talking about THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA where the CONSTUTION OF THE UNITED STATES IS THE SUPREME LAW OF THE UNITED STATES. And please stop namecalling.
