    What are these 10 states?

I'll relate a LEO encounter that happened in a local park last summer.

I was open carrying like always and stopped at the local park to sit in the pavilion and eat the ice cream cone I'd just purchased. My wife and I do that quite often in the summer but she was out of town visiting grandkids. Anyway, when I got there the only pavilion had some folks in it so I wandered over and asked if they were having a private party (folks can reserve the pavilion) and a lady said it was and the local Senior Center was having an outing.

Well, I said I was a Senior and I was invited to join them.... and so I did. I sat and chatted with a fellow for a moment or two until one of the staff from the Senior Center asked about my sidearm. I began explaining the legality and all that stuff. She was genuinely interested and finally wandered off.

Another woman, definitely NOT a lady, then confronted me and told me that even though she knew it was legal would I go put my gun in the car because she and some others didn't like it.

My instant response of "No." was met with the woman getting highly agitated and irate as she berated me and tried to intimidate me into putting my gun away. I told her if she didn't like it to call a cop.

Ummmmmm.... someone called the cops and it wasn't long before they responded. The young officer took me aside and asked what was going on. I explained. He then turned to the woman and her friends and explained that what I was doing was legal, I was within my rights, and she had no right to demand I put my gun away.

That didn't go over well with the woman. She became irate and very loud with the officer to the point where I spoke up and told her to calm down. THAT didn't go over well either!

It all ended with the woman refusing to talk anymore and the officer and I sitting at a picnic table in the middle of the pavilion chatting because I refused to leave until I decided I'd made my point (and the officer said he understood that too when I said I'd leave in a few minutes) then he and I walked off trying to figure out if his new Dodge Charger was faster than my new Camaro. He didn't offer to race and find out and neither did I.

He should have cited her for improper use of 911 (if she used 911) and disturbing the peace. That's a great story though, and very happy ending!

    I am not anti-cop, I am pro-Constitution.

We need more stories like this! Stupid woman. Oh, and if she knew it was legal but she called 911 anyway, he should have got her for false reporting.

    Hello everyone,
Since I started working as a night security guard 1.5 yrs ago I have been asked repeatedly by the law enforcement that i work around "where is your gun" they would say that I must be crazy going up against the bad people that I encounter without a weapon. and every LEO sternly suggested that I at least get a ccw. No they are not all bad,I say try it for a year and you might understand them better, remember the same reason you want to carry a gun really is the reason they carry a gun--bad guys, only difference you might run into a bad guy once in a lifetime they usually do once a day or more.I know I do-- just a thought.

    Default LEO encounters

Once a police officer finds out you have a CCW they more often than not are on your side. After all, to obtain the permit you have to go through a pretty extensive background check. Most of their worries have been answered once you tell them you are Armed and have your CCW. Now they are able to get back to generating revenue without having to worry about who they just pulledover.
