You have to read the last few paragraphs on page 3 for the interesting character stuff.
But in the middle of the article it says the constable had given conflicting statements to the investigators, and then when pressed to just tell the truth he decided to speak with his lawyer and after that he came up with the "she ran over my foot" story.

Wow. I work Loss Prevention for another retailer and I must say that this is good video for training in what "not" to do. I will not go in to detail, but much went wrong, from the store personnel and the Constable. I am very much against shoplifting, but I did not see anything in the video that would implicate her. Bad decisions all around.
