| I came back to re-read this thread after seeing Armed Decal as a sponsor of my favorite site. After reading all five pages all I can say is that I hate when my full size M&P "prints". Why the hell do I want to advertise I'm a "gun toting, paranoid, freak"? I see the logic but, I disagree. While the red-neck in me wants a Nothing-In-Here-Worth-Dying-For sticker, I just can't do it.

I ordered a set before starting this thread. After reading through the arguments in favor and against (mostly against), I elected to file away the stickers as good memoribilia. The arguments against were pretty convincing that this may not be the best thing for me to display. |

| While some may consider these stickers no worse then alarm company stickers, I prefer "concealed" carry. This means no visibility and no advertisement. |

| I could not agree more, I do not like stickers or badges at all. The only one that needs to know that I have a gun on me, is me and the BG it’s aimed at.

| All of the "reasons" behind CWP badges and stickers seem to be a huge reach. They sound like something advertised on late-night infomercials...chicken basters with a built-in VCR or whatever. I'm thankful for their sponsorship of the site, though. |

| U know I do get around and I have yet to see a bare foot 6th Dan master of say Shotokan Karate in a full Gi/gee with black belt and full dojo gear, maybe some nun-chucks in the belt or throwing stars/shurikens in a hidden pouch quietly sipping iced tea in a diner or strolling through 'das WalMacht', sorry..Wallmart stores. To do so would dishonor everything 'empty/open fist' stands for, their decades of constant training, style and dojo, their Sensei (big time) and themselves worst of all. It would also probably startle the public and invite a throw down from some 'wanna-be' bad-asses who saw 'Enter the Dragon' too many times and think kata is a form of hip-hop music. So this master would be bugged everywhere they went. Their kit is for the dojo only, as are their skills and you only find out just how deadly this 'ordinary person' in jeans and a checkered shirt with a base-ball cap really is should you decide to even pull a weapon on them in any anvironment. A true master would try to disengage knowing how much damage they could do, but back against the wall or in the process of protecting say the life of a loved one or innocent look the fuck out, they are just as deadly as any gun up close, unless they take a 'chump shot' in the back unseen from ambush/bushwack, the same shot that would bring down even the best CCW marksman lifetime NRA 2nd Amendement advocate rifle/pitol pro. Takes about as many years of training to produce a certified NRA senior instructor (range master in all models of weapons) as it does to get those black-blets. Took me 5 years 2 nights a week, 3 hour sessions each as a teen to get my 1st Dan, and I left most of those skills in my past. Today 3 decades after my last dojo visit I can pull, aim and fire my pistol from complete concealment to discharge in 3 secs tops and I will probably wound with one shot not kill, so I get 9-10 more tries to stop the BG, a Karate or Kung Fu master can crush my windpipe in 1 second... killing me unless my martial arts skills match theirs. I don't think I need drag this analogy out any longer to make my point. Probably plenty of martial artist, or ex ones in this group as patrons. Blend in and only stand out when all your other options have run out. Same with CCW (don't) show & tell. High speed powerful punches, jabs or kicks can be halted 1-inch from contact if your BG throws up the hands, bullets seldom stop by will power alone. No concealed permit needed either :-) Regards, Canis-Lupus

| If the silly sticker works like it's supposed to you're only sending a BG off to find some unprepared victim. The whole concept of concealed carry is to make it harder for the wolves to tell the sheep from the sheepdogs. Why help 'em? There oughta be a question on the CCW app: "Do you intend to purchase a CCW badge?" If you answer YES, you don't get the permit on grounds of mental deficiency. Jes' kiddin'. Sorta. |

| Thanks to all, enjoyed the pro vs con aspects... I too agree, no sign no decal no advertising. A laugh to the badges quote, it reminded my of the stuff my NRA instructor, the lawyer, and the Sheriff Dept all said... All thos preotected by S&W shirts, signs, ball caps etc do is demonstrate to the unknowing that you are a vicious killer because you advertise that you want to shoot someone. Low key, concealed, prepared and vigilant. Again, thanks - really a great discussion. |
