why can't we rig our vehicles with pepper spray so when some one breaks in, it will activate and also leave some colored dye on them. it can be placed under the trunk (inside), and middle of car and activated when unlawful entry. vehicle owner can activate/deactivate along with alarm system. we need to lawfully fight back.

Well, if you're ingenious... They do sell pepper spray in the "riot extinguisher" size, for the corrections market. It looks like a big red fire extinguisher. Plumb one of these through the rocker panel on each side.

It wouldn't get you in as much trouble as the South African anti-carjack propane flamethrower.

I do love the idea, and it wouldn't be hard to build. "Will that be Regular, or Extra Crispy?"

In training I've experienced being pepper sprayed to the face and tasered. Although the pepper spray is terrible stuff, the teaser down right knocked my big ass into the dirt immediately. Pepper spray takes a few seconds before the burning starts and then a few seconds more for the burning to ramp up. Taser is instant and the civilian Taser shocks for a full 30 seconds and trust me that is an eternity of shear pain and immobility. Taser works far better than spray. Carry all three if you can. Carry a gun for when you are faced with a lethal threat. The spray works great on animals and most people. The Taser is great against immediate threats where you feel like your in immediate danger but you are'nt entirely justified to use lethal force.

Hey Capt: The Taser is not a cheap item. Granted it works but it is expensive. A stun gun or similar device that requires your physical contact of the BG is also out there. Instead of pepper spray, you can buy the larger canister of bear spray(stream of liquid is better description)--good to 25-30 ft and will tell a grizzly to mind his own business. Carry all three ? Getting to look like dog the bounty hunter after a while; I am out for a walk in the woods in shorts--now I have all this "stuff".

Even though I agree with you, you do realize he laughs all the way to the bank.
