    Default Pistol Grip Buttstock, Is It Legal?

    I’m new to South Carolina moving to the upstate from Pennsylvania. Is it legal to change out my standard shoulder stock on my Mossberg 930 SPX and add a pistol grip style buttstock. By adding the pistol grip buttstock to my automatic shotgun is it now considered an assault rifle?

    It's legal and it doesn't reclassify your shotgun. There are no firearms modification restrictions in SC other than federal restrictions. Welcome to SC and enjoy your newly found 2A rights!
