    Default My Savage 10fp

Well, after much research and a lot of feedback from you guys I had decided to get a Savage 10fp. KimberRB and I was out running around today and I found one NIB for $519. That's the best price I had seen soooooo I bought it. Now I need to pick up a bipod and figure out what type of mounts, rings, and glass to top it with. I'm open to any feedback on good glass.

    Well, here she is:

Nice gun porn pic's. I like how you laid out the rounds teasing us. I want to see some paper at 300 yards when you find some glass for it.

Like father like son. I just hope he will let me shoot it some time. He slept with it last night.

And the problem with that lies....where? He wanted to keep it warm - cold guns don't shoot well

I have a Ken Farrel 20moa rail with Burress XTR rings and a Super Sniper 10x42 scope. Shoots 1/2 moa with Black Hills match ammo, which features Sierra Matchking 168gr. BTHP bullets.

Well, I just couldn't stand looking at such a nice rifle without shooting it sooo..... i went out today and picked up a bipod and scope for it. They didn't have the 20 MOA one piece base so I went with a two piece Leopold base and high scope rings. I'll probably swap it out with the one piece 20 MOA base later. I've been doing a lot of reading on scopes and, even though I'd love to drop $1500 on a nightforce scope, I went with the Bushnell elite 4200 with the mil dots. Lastly had to get a harris bipod. After I dialed in the scope I shot 4 groups at 100 yrds 2 of which were under 1 MOA. One measured .76 and the other .58. So far very happy with the accuracy out of the box with factory ammo. I did have one issue with it. Most of the time you really have to pull on the bolt to get it to extract the spent brass. I called Savage and they told me to take it in and have a gun smith look at it and they'd flip the bill. I did notice the primer strikes seem to be really deep not sure if that could cause this issue.

    Heres a few pics

Good, Good, nice shooting. That rifle does look better with the optics on it now.
