From what I read you can eat at a place such as redlobster, Fridays or somewhere that is a sit down restraunt but you can't go into the bar area. This is also a conflicting law because it also says you can't so be careful.
On my way back from TX, I'm going to detour through New Orleans. I've read the LA law page on this forum and am a little confused. Is the law that one may carry in a restaurant if he stays out of the bar area, or no restaurant carry if alcohol is served?
Thanks

You can conceal carry in the resturant portion if you have a permit. Stay out of the bar section. No Open Carry at all if the place serves alcohol.
