Non-resident OPEN carry allowed in Michigan?

So, say I was a Canadian with proper 6NIA to bring my pistol (and ammo, I know the US export laws) across the border into the U.S. (specifically Sault Ste. Marie), can I open carry? If so, given confrontation by police (I know you don't have to show ID) what would showing a Canadian ID result in, if anything?

I need to find a quality holster for my CZ75B that will handle the higher aftermarket sights, so if I could bring the gun to the sports stores that would be swell.
