    Not active duty or a vet but I am going to patronize Applebee's on wednesday and tell them why. Think they should know how much this means to the rest of us. Think I will pay the tip to a few of the waitress that are serving our military men and women! I passed the link to some friends about this. Hope other do the same. Spend some $ at Applebee's in apreciation of their very good deed!

    On Veterans Day, November 11, 2009, Sam’s Club® locations nationwide will be giving away 25,000 Hugo® canes free of charge to United States Military Veterans in need of mobility assistance.

    We salute our veterans for all the incredible contributions made to our country. To all who have served... Thank You!

    Limited quantities per club, available only while supplies last. Sam’s Club® Membership is not required. Proof of military service may be required.

    WE PAY TRIBUTE TO OUR VETERANS WITH A COMPLIMENTARY ENTREE FROM A SPECIAL MENU


    Veterans will be able to choose a complimentary lunch or dinner entrée on November 8. Some of the mouth-watering selections include Cashew-Crusted Tilapia, Grilled Atlantic Salmon, Seafood Fettuccini Alfredo and Cedar-Planked Salmon.

    The McCormick & Schmick’s Veterans Appreciation Event is offered to veterans defined by the Veterans Administration, Title 38 US Code 101, which is “a person who served in the active military, naval, or air service, and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.” Please present proper identification to your server when you are seated. Proper ID includes VA card, VFW card, American Legion card, discharge papers, DD214 or other Veterans ID . Please note that in an effort to accommodate as many Veterans as possible, restaurants will not be able to seat parties larger than 6.

    Veteran's Day, UNO invites all members of the military, both veterans and active duty, to enjoy a free entree or individual pizza with the purchase of an entree or pizza of equal or greater value.

    Free breakfast for all veterans on Veterans Day, November 11th during regular breakfast hours at your Hy-Vee. Choose from scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrown casserole, biscuits and gravy and more served with a free small beverage.
    Veterans will also receive a free carnation at the Veterans Day Breakfast.
