    Default V.F.W. Carry 3281

I am a second generation V.F.W. member, at my post there has recently been posted a no firearms allowed sign.
Every member of the club has picked up arms in defence of this country and its freedoms.
Members of the Mens and Ladies auxilary have family members that have done the same.
Have I lost my mind or should we be allowed to carry the tools needed for self defence in a place that we gather to celebrate our freedoms.
I understand that these are private clubs and that I am free to join another.
I plan to bring this up at our next meeting but I wondered what you think.
There are other posts in my area that have no such signs but my family has belonged to this post for as long as I can remember.
An honest mans pillow is his peace of mind.

You have not lost your mind. But a lot of other people have. This is probably related to insurance coverage or a liquor license.

There is no law in Indiana stating you cannot carry in a bar, let alone not imbibe while carrying etc...., so there in New ALbany, IN sounds like you need to contact your Post Commander and sit down and talk to him about this

This is unacceptable when it happens at regular restaurants, an absolute abomination that this was posted at your club. Ban like minded members together and fix this!

Even if a liquor license or insurance issue - work with it. It is not acceptable to let the very freedoms you fought for be taken away!

Thank you and your members for your service and god bless in this new fight that needs to be taken on in your club! It matter!

Get some friends together at the next meeting and tell the Commander that either the signs walk or we walk. Bet the signs come down!

Indiania has had concealed carry since 1935. I don't buy the insurance lie!

Hardly surprising when even our military bases are victim zones.

That's a sad commentary alright and is indicative of how far PC has eroded our common sense. How long til we see: "Welcome to Ft. Hood - Gun Free Zone"?

This is just nuts! If you do have that meeting please get the genius to give their exact reasoning for the ban, I'd really like to hear it.
Avidshooter>>> I like that comment "victim zone" So, gun free zone is a synonym
for victim zone and vice versa.

Thanks, I didn't invent it but I like it. It makes the point rather well.
