When I read this post it made me sick to my stomach. Once, serving at Ft. Benning after a tour in VietNam, some associates and I encountered an FNG claiming to be a sargent who had just returned from "in country". He had most of the lingo down but as we asked him questions he failed miserably. We reprimanded him and scolded him and dropped him off 20 miles from base. At least he was an E-1 who was serving and might have gotten stationed overseas. That was 1971 and a long time ago. Still I get enraged when someone is not what they portray themselves to be...![]()
