    Default Son to Basic

Taking my son to St. Louis this afternoon. Tomorrow he will get on a plane for Ft Sill, OK. for Army - Basic Training. His going to be a medic.

His Mom and I are super proud of him. He graduated mid year, because he wanted to get there and get going. Way to go Jacob!

God Bless all our military men and women!

Congratulation, my son joined the Army right out of high school. He became a helicopter machanic. Decided to make a career out of it. Has seven years to go. Couldn't be prouder. His sister joint the Air Force a year ago. She waited until after collage. Now she is an Officer and out ranks him. She is still waiting for his salute. Very proud of both of them.

I did basic, AIT, and was stationed at Ft. Sill. I shot rockets. Not many, pretty expensive you know. Im sure alot has changed in the last fifteen years. I didnt think it would ever end then. Now it seems like a dream. Good times.

Yep, I went to Army basic training at Ft. Dix, NJ in 1984. The last day of high school was a Thursday, and I was on the plane on Friday. Missed my graduation ceremony. Then I went to Navy boot camp in 1988 at Orlando, Florida. Then Navy OCS in 2001, boot camp with the Marines! I visited Navy Boot Camp in Great Lakes last year. I did not recognize boot camp any more from when I went three times. Now, they might as well be going to a college dorm...

I hope your son, Iam2Taz, gets as much reward and personal satisfaction from serving in the military as I have these 27+ years.

If Your son flies Apaches out of Ft Campbell my son could be his mechanic.
