Default Do you have a gun in the house?

This was sent to me by a friend who tries to keep up with all the second amendment issues. I haven't had this experance yet, but I can see how in might be happening now or down the road.

When I had my gangrene gallbladder taken out and spent 10 days in the hospital for what should have been an overnight stay the insurance company kicked me out. I had home nurse visits for two weeks and was asked if I had guns in the house. I respond that if I did I would not tell them. So the below has some merit.

FYI, I am passing this along... there are comments from two other people I have also been asked if we keep guns in the house. The nurse just kinda slipped it in along with all the other regular questions. I told her I refused to answer because it was against the law to ask.

Everyone, whether you have guns or not, should give a neutral answer so they have no idea who does and who doesn't. My doctor asked me if I had guns in my house and also if any were loaded. I, of course, answered yes to both questions. Then he asked why I kept a loaded gun close to my bed. I answered that my son, who is a certified gun instructor and also works for Homeland Security, advised me that an unloaded, locked up gun is no protection against criminal attack.

The Government now requires these questions be asked of people on Medicare, and probably everyone else.

Just passing this along for your information: I had to visit a doctor other than my regular doctor when my doctor was on vacation.. One of the questions on the form I had to fill out was: Do you have any guns in your house?? My answer was None of your damn business!!

So it is out there! It is either an insurance issue or government intervention. Either way, it is out there and the second the government gets into your medical records (as they want to under Obamacare) it will become a major issue and will ultimately result in lock and load!!

Please pass this on to all the other retired guys and gun owners... Thanks. From a Vietnam Vet and retired Police Officer: I had a doctors appointment at the local VA clinic yesterday and found out something very interesting that I would like to pass along. While going through triage before seeing the doctor, I was asked at the end of the exam, three questions: 1. Did I feel stressed? 2. Did I feel threatened? 3. Did I feel like doing harm to someone?

The nurse then informed me that if I had answered yes to any of the questions I would have lost my concealed carry permit as it would have gone into my medical records and the VA would have reported it to Homeland Security.

Looks like they are going after the vets first. Other gun people like retired law enforcement will probably be next. Then when they go after the civilians, what argument will they have? Be forewarned and be aware. The Obama administration has gone on record as considering veterans and gun owners potential terrorists. Whether you are a gun owner, veteran or not, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED !

If you know veterans and gun owners, please pass this on to them. Be very cautious about what you say and to whom.

They are coming for us, so unless you're an ostrich, do not stick your head in the sand.......

''My answer was None of your damn business!!'' good answer! i've had gallbladder problems for years and my last attack lasted four days but i refused to go to any hospital as i'd rather just die at home and for a while thought welp that's it my time is over thankfully i made it through on my own
but i do try to eat less fatty and aggravating foods and drink chanca piedra tea when i know i've been bad with a good gall bladder diet
but your article shows how big pharma/medicine and government both controlled by the crown are trying to gather stats on all levels of our lives
best wishes and don't volunteer info the census is more than enough of their business imo
amazing they would take a gun permit away if you answered yes to any one of those questions as life is stressful at times mostly slave wage jobs cause folks their most stress just trying to survive make ends meet and pay their illegal taxes...in a minimum wage corrupted culture and making ends meet is the cause of most our nations stress and depressions in which half or more citizens are on some bogus big pharma drug so they can cope with their miserable slave lives..or be chemically lobotimized to just go along with the status quo....and sometimes folks do make threats that can be a cause for concern co workers, road ragers.....our government is our biggest threat imo ... and yes i would harm someone if they had me up against a wall or threatening bodily harm so wtf kind of bs questions are those?? and besides it's none their business as they not going to do anything to help anyone in the first place

Always check Snopes on this stuff. This is another urban legend. The question that you might get asked would be in relation to being seen for stress or depression.

Obummer, Barrack Hussein is Anti-Everything. Unless the polls show he should be pro. It is amazing how his hand works to make his stooge, Carney (sic) say stupid things to throw folks way off the track. Then after his mouth is made to move by whatever poll is dictating what the left thinks, then he may come to the People to make his case. We cannot make this stuff up. Stranger than fiction. His arm must really hurt from the depth of his reach up to the bicep to make folks talk.

Snopes is just a tool, they have been caught with inaccurate information.

I don't know anything about the OP email, but as a nurse for 30 years I do know that this question is asked in many health care settings, especially in pediatric offices. It was part of the home health admission questions at least 15 years ago. Most nurses simply don't bother asking, and most would respect a refusal to answer. Just don't make a big deal of it.

In Canada, however, a friend of mine needed home health care and he couldn't get it because he had guns. The nurses themselves said they would NEVER enter his home if they thought there was a gun in it... and that if he wanted care he'd have to get rid of all of them. Freaking idiots.

Needless to say, he managed on his own.

Damn right...if I want to believe it, then leave me alone. Ignorance is bliss when it meets your expectations.
