Due to recent high publicity celebrity deaths, I think we should take a little time and honor those who recently gave their all for their country.
Honor the fallen: Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom casualties
Although I don't agree with the war, or our "leaders" that put us in the war. But I respect the individuals that have given thier lives to fight for thier country, that is truly a noble cause. May they Rest In Peace.
In order to rally people, governments need enemies. They want us to be afraid, to hate, so we will rally behind them. And if they don't have a real enemy, they'll invent one in order to mobilize us.
+1. No matter what our position on this war or any war the men and women that have given of themselves for the rest of us need to be remembered. They are the real heros.
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house;by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith Heb.11:7

To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them... -- Richard Henry Lee, 1787

I'll list my dad who died about 10 years ago..
4 years in the army (pre-WWII)
Went into the Navy During WWII as a Merchant Seaman on Liberty Ships
When they created the Air Force, he switched over and became a E-8 Chief Master Sergeant responsible for maintenance of B-52's at SAC Bases.
He retired after 24 years total service
His Brother was in the Marines in WWII and was a purple heart recipient for a bad shrapnel wound between his left shoulder and his heart.. He was lucky to live.
I spent 7 Years in the Coast Guard Reserve.
So between the Three of us, we covered all of the services, but of course my service does not compare to theirs, but it helps round out the story...

To lower the flag when Ted the swimmer died and not leave it lowered when our service men and women are dying everyday is a disgrace. THERE IS ONLY ONE GROUP IN OUR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WHO DESERVE OUR RESPECT, ADMIRATION AND SUPPORT AND THAT IS OUR MILITARY AND THE AFFILIATED GROUPS WHO KEEP US SAFE FROM FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC ADVERSARIES. GOD BLESS THEM ALL. If only our dear congress and bo could get the message. Kindly note lower case and lack of title in the previous sentence--it is meant to be that way.
