Legal to carry in casinos until they throw you out, and they will most likely do that if the casino figures out you are carrying. If you go back after being thrown out, you are trespassing (assuming security gives you the trespass warning) and they will usually call the police to cite you for trespass. Possibly arrested for trespass, but that is unlikely in most cases.

I live in Henderson, Nv, about fifteen city-driving minutes from the strip. The basic Vegas valley area consists of three cities...Las Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas. As others have said, NLV is somewhat similar to the Watts area of Los Angeles...high crime, etc. Henderson was just named by Forbes magazine as the second-safest city in the country. Las Vegas itself is pretty darn safe in the areas that a tourist would seek for vacation.

I don't OC anywhere, but CCW everywhere. In fact, I see very little OCing anywhere in the Vegas Valley.

As someone mentioned, a few casinos have a posted no-firearms policy. I've never been hassled and/or spotted. I play poker regularly at several "marked" casinos and can assure you that there are a lot of my opponents (local folks) who are carrying on any given day. Just don't do something like start talking about it at the table.

BTW: If you're at a poker table and see me (same hat all the time), be sure to introduce yourself.

Some casinos do post. However they have no force of law other than simple trespass. I carry all the time at Boyd/Coast Casino and Terrible's Searchlight (which has a no weapons sign posted) properties which typically post. Sam Boyd probably turned in his grave when he found out that Boyd Group corporate made that policy.

If you're a good customer and don't cause any issues you will not have a problem.

A sticky area you need to worry about are casinos with child care facilities. However keep in mind that it's limited to the portion of the casino resort that has the facility as it is illegal for persons under 21 to loiter in gaming areas. While you can probably get cited or arrested if you're made with a CCW in the portion of a casino with a child care facility the easy defense is that the child care facility does post that you cannot bring alcohol into the licensed child care portion of the establishment plus every casino has the gaming loitering statute posted in the gaming areas. That conflicting statutory area should provide for a good legal defense against carrying in an establishment with a licensed childcare facility.

Yep, not breaking any law if you carry in a casino. I carry open 99% of the time; have OCed many times on the strip and at the Fremont experience. With that said as already posted, most casinos have a no gun rule. I almost never go in them. If the occasional situation comes up and I end up in a casino, if my wife is with me and I do not want the hassle, I do have a CCW and will conceal. The few times I am in a casino, I am never in one without a firearm. I have been asked to leave a few when open carrying. Casinos are not required to post any signs to inform the legal gun owner of their policy. If you are looking for more of a bargain as far as the casinos, rooms and food Fremont Experience casinos usually has better deals than the strip. Even better deals may be found at the few casinos on the Boulder Hwy and in Henderson.

At the Fremont Experience, the best lunch counter in Vegas is at Binions. They have a different bean soup-of-the-day everyday.

On Boulder Hwy, the rooms are very nice and very reasonably priced at the Eastside Cannery. Access to the "Strip" is easy from there too. Simply take Tropicana south and you'll come to the MGM Grand's parking garage (on right) where you can get your car valet parked for a simple $5 tip.

NLV checking in here. I've never eaten anywhere at the Cosmopolitan, but the place is beautiful. I tend to stay away from the strip as much as possible, just because of the hassle that's involved in getting down there. I agree with what someone else said, even if you're on the strip I wouldn't walk around where the Stratosphere is or the Sahara used to be. That whole section of the strip just looks shady. I just recently got my NV CCW, so this is some good info for me as well.

Nevada, in some ways have liberal CCW rules. For instance you can CC in bars and restaurants and of course casinos that serve alcohol and even drink alcohol BUT it must be under a set limit, I forget what the limit is but it's lower than the driving limit of .08.

Nevada is CCW friendly state, but she wants you to keep it concealed. Even though casinos may have no fire arms signs, as long as you keep it concealed you'll be fine.

P.S. there has been some crime especially the south end of the Strip (near MGM & Planet Hollywood); gang banger punks from California coming in because of the cheap room rates and alcohol. I would definitely carry on the Strip.

If a visitor is at the south end of the strip (MGM, Caesars, Luxor, etc) there's plenty to keep you busy. However, the Stratosphere is an interesting experience (be sure to go to the top). If you have a rental car, simply drive down Las Vegas Blvd and you'll be perfectly safe. However, a cab ride only costs about $20 each way.

The steak house at Circus Circus is one of the oldest and still one of the best on the strip. The poker room there is good too.

Note: Leave your kids at home. Regardless of what you might have heard a few years ago on TV, Vegas is not a family place.
