NRS 202.3653 Definitions. As used in NRS 202.3653 to 202.369, inclusive, unless the context otherwise requires:
4. “Revolver” means a firearm that has a revolving cylinder with several chambers, which, by pulling the trigger or setting the hammer, are aligned with the barrel, placing the bullet in a position to be fired. The term includes, without limitation, single or double derringer.
Derringers do not have a revolving cylinder, they have a barrel for each round. NRS 202.3653 states that if you have qualified with any revolver, you are also authorized to carry any single or double (one or two round) derringer. There is no statutory cylinder size capacity for revolvers. There is a statutory capacity limitation for derringers though.
