Default It's here after all the waiting and set backs.

Well after all the set backs and bills that would seem to come in just when i had enough money saved up to get my concealed carry handgun today all the waiting payed off i made some calls and found a local gun shop that had them in stock and drove up to see them ( them being the S&W M&P's ). I had my heart set on the M&P 9mm with night sights but they had it down as 650 and had a M&P40 for 599 with night sights so i looked at that instead. After falling in love with the 40cal she told me she had no idea why the M&P 9mm was marked as 650 and that i could have it for the same price as the 40cal ( 599). But by then i had already falling in love with the 40cal so i filled out the paper work and they ran the check. I had to wait 45 mins for that to come back due to other people ahead of me ( a head of me being run for the background check and not in the store) So I took the family out to lunch and then came back and picked up my new baby and a extra 15 round mag. They had a sale on Black talon ammo so i picked up 100 rounds of 145G ( i think it's 145) JHP. So now i just have to order a new belt so i can use it. Looking at the 5.11 operator belt. Love the night sights. Photos to come later.

With the .40 cal you can always get a Stormlake 9mm barrel and some mags and have your 9mm cake and eat it too.

Congrats on the new Baby. Is this place a large store that it is always crowded/line, or were they having a sale or something...just curious.
Side Note: How goes the battle?

The store is really small it's called Welsh's Gun shop it's in Lebanon NH. But there was really no one there when i went just a few people. The 45 min wait i was talking was when they called in my information to the Feds the Fed operator said she has a few people a head of me and would call them back with weather i passed the back ground check or not. No the wait was not bad in the store just had to wait for the Feds to do there thing. I got in and got what i wanted lol I made sure of that.

What battle? The Job battle not so good still nothing just about gave up and i enrolled into Granite State College for a BA in Criminal Justice but i dropped the classes and I'M thinking of doing just my Gen Eds for a Four year degree and then going for a RN in nursing it makes mad money if it's something your into I don't know any other job you can make 25-45 dollars a hour to start.

Other then that i have been stuck at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical center for my oldest daughter she had a cyst removed from the inside of her throat and stayed over night at CHAD ( Children's Hospital At Dartmouth) then we came home but like a week later she had the cyst come back and with a massive infection so we took her to the Springfield VT ER and spent five hours there before they transferred us up to the Dartmouth ER the plan was to do emergency surgery that night but she had something to eat so they had to wait till the next day to do it. Then we spent five days at CHAD and got to come home this Tuesday after first going up there October 9th. So things could be a little better she is doing good now they are getting the infection under control and then in a few weeks she will have another operation. So hoping all goes well.

How goes the battle on your end??

Here is my holster ( OWB ) want to get a IWB but it will have to wait till i get the funds. I had it made at the end of last year but with all the set backs I got to use it yesterday for the first time. It works great but it was really stiff to the point where i had to keep my thumb over the back of the slide. Or when i holstered the gun it would dragged the slide back with it. Then it would get stuck when i tried to draw the firearm because the holster was holding on to tight. But i followed the holster makers steps to fix it. Wrapped wax paper around the gun and holstered it for a few seconds and that fixed it now it slides in nice and draws easy but still holds tight.

Here is the double mag pouch. The problem I'M having with this is they do not want to stay in the pouch i had the holster on last night just around the house and i would find my self walking and the mags would hit the floor. Or if i was sitting down i would stand up to find the mags in the chair. Any idea's on how to fix this? Or make them grip better?

Here is my EDC gear for the most part everything in the photo i carry on me other then the handcuffs. not seen in the photo is my flashlight and a cheap camera i carry with me and pepper spray. The knife is nothing great just a Gerber fast draw that can be picked up at any local walmart and many other stores. My get another knife but i don't feel like spending 100+ on a knife as long as it's sharp and cuts that's all that matters to me. If i did have to use it and the police took it so be it. It's just 30 dollars but a great knife I find my self using it for daily tasks and then i resharpen it at night. The leatherman is a leatherman wave I would trust my life to no other tool. Not the best gun porn lol but i suck at taking photos. I tried to take a photo of the night sights but it did not turn out so well. Maybe i will try again later.

Congrats on picking up your new baby. You'll love the .40 cal, it is a great compromise between the 9mm and allmighty .45 ACP, but definately an edge of performance over the 9mm without much more recoil.

Nice Gear! I guess from what I read on here, the leather will eventually stretch out, right? Maybe that's why the mag's aren't held in very snuggly?
Prayer/s sent out to your Daughter and Family. Hope All goes well with Her. Last time I was at Dartmouth was 8 years ago. When our girl was born, they flew Her there because they said she had an enlarged heart. Scared the shit out of my Wife and I. It was only a shadow from the xray image.
My nephew is studying for Xray Tech in Lowell. He said there are bucks in that field too. Anything with Hospitals seem like the place to go that is secure. I'm just doing home projects around here while my Back is still intact..lol. Little at a time is all I can do. Work is slow but enough to keep busy. Lunch is over, time to go..............................

Smile Many congrats, S&WM&P40!

Sorry you had such trouble with your baby girl, but it is good to hear that she is alright. It is also nice to know that Papa can watch over his family even better now that he is properly armed!

I thought about you last weekend because I went up to Gorham for a couple of days for a wedding. Beautiful country! I also bought the best wedding gift at the reception: a twelve gauge HD shotgun! I actually waited to purchase it in New Hampshire, and I really like the store where I picked it up. Have you been to the Village Gun Store in Whitefield? Very nice couple running the place, both are very knowledgeable, and their prices were (to my CT accustomed eyes) very nice.

The only issue that I had was that I couldn't find anywhere to shoot!!!

Incidentally, I think that we need to plan our New England branch picnic for USACarry up in your neck of the woods for next spring/summer.

Exclamation One more thing!

Speaking as a former LEO, I would really consider leaving those handcuffs at home. If, heaven forbid, you do have to use your firearm to protect your self or, more importantly, someone else, you do not want anything that would paint you as a cop wannabe. Trust me; those handcuffs are going to scream wanna-be copper (read:vigilante) to the prosecuting DA.
