    Question Tourist needs advice

Hi guys. I'm after a little advice.
Come August this year a friend and I will be taking a summer holiday in the states. Road trip from New York to Washington DC and then meeting up with family in Florida. On thte NY-DC part, i'd like to go shooting. Its the kind of thing that we just wouldn't be able to do in the UK.
Looking on GoogleMaps, the drive will take us through NJ, our half way point should be near Philladelphia or Glassboro. Is there anywhere near there that we could stop in and learn to shoot for an afternoon? Are foreign tourists allowed to turn up and shoot? How much (guesstimated) would it cost us?
Is there anything that i'll need to do beforehand, register, apply etc?
as you can see, i know nothing about US gun laws, except that they're different for different states.
Any help you can give me would be grately apprectated.
    Cheers, Bob. Wiltshire, UK

    I have two suggestions:

I would repost this in the Pennsylvania section. Who knows you may even gat an offer to be a member's guest at a range ( Come to Colorado and we're on)

    2. google up ranges in the area you expect to be and get their range policy

Wish I could be of more assistance

Goggle classic pistol in Southampton PA (near Philly) it's a cool indoor place with some good people that run the place. They rent handguns and class III weapons. Have fun!

    Default shooting in NJ (glassboro)

I hope you enjoy your time in the States. Personally, I love Cumbria in your country and would love to visit again!

I shoot in NJ at Bob's Little Sport Shop in Glassboro NJ. You can rent everything you need. The range is indoors which means that weather need not be a factor.

If you stay in touch, I'd be happy to meet you at the range and "host" you for your experience. The staff offers an excellent "get started" (range rules, safety, shooting instruction) introduction.

I also do trap shooting at Pine Valley Gun Club which is on Clementon NJ not far from Glassboro. This would be weather-dependent.
