| Here is the link the NJ carry permit...be aware that by trying to submit it will only result in the wasting of your time http://www.njsp.org/info/forms.html#firearms "Application must be delivered, in triplicate, to the Chief of Police of the municipality wherein you reside, or to the Superintendent of State Police in all other cases. A money order in the amount of $20.00 payable to State of New Jersey must accompany this application. Answer all questions. If more space is needed, attach bond paper. Page two must be completed. Four photographs of the applicant, one and one-half inch square, head and shoulders, no hat, light background, taken within the last 30 days must accompany this application." |

| You overlooked the part about needing to demonstrate that you actually can walk on water, that you're joined at the hip with a NJ Supreme Court Justice or are married to the Chief of Police in your town, and/or that you make so much money you can buy the freaking town and make your own rules. Anyone else need not apply.

| Unearthed, perhaps you could share a few of the details about how they achieved this miracle. Are they "connected", politically? Mafiosi, perhaps? What you're saying is nothing short of unbelievable, unless there's some overriding circumstance which you have to consider. Think about it and please...if you can...let us know.

| Maybe they filled out the NJ CCW EZ form - commonly found at real estate offices Real estate agents refer to it as a sales contract – sell your NJ home and your half the way there |

| I find it hard to believe that your aunt and uncle have CCW permits that are NJ issued, unless they are retired LEO (or former LEO now working as private investigators). NJ only allows permits to be issued to them, armored car security, and those who can prove "compelling need." The local police chief has to approve it, then it gets sent to a superior court judge, who must also approve it, and who has the authority to put restrictions on it. And neither police chiefs nor judges in this state are considered to be gun-friendly folk. Many years ago it was a little easier, but as those permits expired, they were NOT grandfathered. The applicants had to fulfill all the new rules. NJ does not recognize ANY out of state permits. If it did, my FL permit would be of use to me here. |

List the reason for this application: " Does anyone have an example of this letter? Unearthed, I would very much like to know what your aunt and uncle wrote on their letters. |

As far as the letter of need, you either have to be working for a licensed security company (who will supply the letter), a retired LEO, a former LEO now working as a private investigator, or show that you run a business where you deal regularly with staggering amounts of cash (such as you own ATM's). As far as that last one, don't get your hopes up. If a judge decides to issue the permit, restrictions will be placed on it limiting the circumstances under which you can carry (such as carry permitted only while transporting cash over a certain amount). For specific legal advice, you can ask the state's best firearms law attorney www.evannappen.com If you feel you can demonstrate the "compelling need" requirement, try giving him a call before wasting time handing in the application. |
