 New member from Up-state NY Lurked here a bit, just joined today...My major interest is in reforming NY's complex pistol permit process and getting the "Hunting/Fishing" only amendment removed from permits issued here in Clinton Co.and replaced with "All legal uses" As some of you know, there is big-time unequal treatment under the law here in NY for pistol owners across the state. I have some glimer of hope that the recent Supreme court decision will help us here with that, although, I dont hold out too much hope with our local (Democrate) judge!.  Welcome from a fellow New Yorker! I wouldn't worry much about the restrictions on your license. in view of the recent Heller decision, New York will have to fall in line and allow carry for "self defence and all legal purposes." It's just a matter of time before the hodge-podge of county laws have to be codified into overriding state law - NYC may also have to allow carry for self defence, too. What a kick in the head to Bloomburgh that would be! |
