Thanks for the welcome.

Punishment? From what?

1st one: Paid for the divorce and left everything to me.

2nd one: Helped me buy a couple of houses in the 22 years we were together and then... yeah, paid for the divorce and left me the house and everything.

3rd on: Lasted 6 months... about drove me crazy. She helped me pay some on my house, then paid for the divorce...then 6 months later gave me over $10,000 worth of wood working equipment because she still loved me. (PowerMatic, Grizzly, Jet, etc)

4th one: Came to me as a virgin, 28 years younger than myself, gave me 6 years of her life, then paid for the divorce and left me everything.

Where is the punishment? Women are WONDERFUL people. All you have to do is love them and treat them special.

Why so many divorces? They get tired of me pushing. (for them to learn) I read about 20+ magazines a month, from computer magazines to car magazines to business to what have you. I try to read 15-20 novels a month too, for relaxation and entertainment. Dozens of hours a week on the Internet learning. Everything from forums like this one, to photography forums, to business forums, to Quickbooks forums to match making sites. (that last one is a HOPELESS cause, I am looking for a woman in at least the top 3% of the population with lots of common sense too. All the good ones are taken.)

You are thinking: what about the TV... ah, another name for the TV is Idiot Box... I leave it to the idiots to watch it. I do have a 9" B&W to watch if something REALLY important comes up.

So, just think how easy you have it!

We'll see if I can keep myself entertained on here for a while. I would like too.

Enjoy,

Ken

Welcome Oregon Vet,

I too am new to USACarry and find the site very informative. As I have read the posts, I have noted that everyone is quite candid in what they have to say. Very refreshing to see the polite honesty and helpful suggestions.

Welcome from Spokane, WA. I love Oregon, did some time there training the round-out BDE for the 4th I.D. (M) when they were stationed @ Ft. Jane (medic) wife never knew about; the folks and the place were just great. The whole state is very alluring to me. I was gonna retire there until I figured-out that the main V.A.M.C. was in Portland, a place I lived for 2 turbulent months right after retirement [97] and was the place me and my -ex finally parted company. How do you manage V.A. care if you are in Salem, ass-U-ming you use it? V.A. outpatient clinic there, outsourcing to local facilities, TRICARE or very long drives? I invite you to recce Veterans and Guns, at your speed, we could use a new member who has posts nicely done, longer than the normal 1-2 liner 'bullet-comments' and your obvious cyber-skills to incorporate JPG's into a well formatted informative introduction post are a refreshing read. With 38 members so far in that social group you be the judge if it fits your needs as a CCW armed citizen and also a Vet. 'SOME PEOPLE ARE BORN WITH GUNS, SOME ACHIEVE GUNS (ownership) AND SOME HAVE GUNS THRUST UPON THEM', my spin on an old saying that fits many Vets!
You came in leaving me with a good impression about you and my gut tells me you are going to be an asset to USA Carry and most certainly Vet & Guns if you so choose to join us.
Hoping you pop-smoke again & soon and welcome to the best concealed carry presence on the WWW.

Hello Sean,

Thanks for the warm welcome from Spokane. I, too, love Oregon. Yes, I hear Bend in a fun town to visit, seems to be lots of money people have 2nd (or 3rd) homes there to visit in the Winter for Winter fun or in the Summer for Summer fun. Being a poor guy, I think I have only passed through there a couple of times. Most recent time was in 1998, so probably a few changes have occurred since then. The people I did talk to seemed cordial and happy. And it seems no matter where a person goes, there are the men or women that get turned on by a uniform. It appears you slide sideways while married. I never could (and can't/won't) do that. When I am with someone, it is just them and I. But, different people live by different rules. Mine aren't for everyone, and neither are yours. We all seem to try to do what we can to get along and no two people are the same. And when I was single and fancy free, I too, had a few one night stands. Two people meeting in the night, never to see each other again. It sure has nothing to do with CCW though!!

Yeah, I have had people ragging on me for 10-15 years to get signed up with the VA, and STILL haven't done it. Dang, talk about me being a procrastinator! I guess they have a little out patient clinic on 17th Street but haven't ever went there. Probably had the location changed by now. Have never been to the VA hospital on the hill in Portland. Supposed to be one of the better ones and I know I should take advantage of it. Seems like I always put stuff off too much.

Ah yes, 1 or 2 line responses. Such seems to be the norm for forums these days. Why take 20-30 minutes to type in a reply when I could just type a 20-30 second one and get my message count up? Cyber-skills? The software these forums run on now is all click and choose, really don't have to know much to add photos and links to messages. I wonder why more don't do it, since a photo does make a message (for me) more interesting to read. I think though, that what is easy for me to do is all to often not easy for others to do. We all would like to think that on a forum such as this one that most of the users would be more computer literate than the normal person walking down the street. But, no matter where we are in life's role for us, we have to remember the way averages work. Fifty percent of the population is BELOW average IQ. Yes, 50% are above too. That really doesn't mean much until we put together those with average IQ and those below average IQ and we get a number of approximately 84%. There will be very few on most forums that don't fit in that 84%. These are the people that do 99% of the work in the world. We would be in sorry shape without these people who can be happy doing the everyday things to keep American running. Many of this 84% group will have lots of common sense! Common sense is one of the most important things a person can have. Without common sense we see HUGH problems happen, like with this bailout on banks they want to do. I swear, I think about 90% of the people, if not more, in government (and it appears, banks) are all below average in the IQ department. It is sad we allow people like that to run our country, but it seems s/he whom has the money gets the job. We have a few government people with higher IQ and some common sense, but not many, from looking at the shape the country is in. All of us MUST vote, but it sure seems like a hopeless cause too much of the time.

I will wander over to the Veterans and Guns Group as I get time. I seem to be so busy all the time. Need to find a wonderful woman to love who can share the responsibilities, fun and joys of life with me. Two always is more enjoyable. (IF it is the right two. With a 60% divorce rate, there seem to be lots of "wrong" twos!)

So far, Sean, I have enjoyed the reading on here. Seems to be a great bunch of people with basically the same outlook on life concerning the part of our lives this forum covers.

Regards,

Ken

Thanks for the welcome from the 36th state. Being a Veteran Services Coordinator there in Reno, you must see and hear lots of horror stories about how vets get dropped through the cracks.

Default Oregon

Greetings from your neighbor to the north, Washington. I am writing from the wonderful city of Lacey, just outside the state capital. Born and raised in Indianapolis, hten spent a lot of years as a desert rat in Arizona, where I served the people of Pinal County as a deputy sheriff/EMT/FireFighter. I am married to a wonderful lady and we just celebrated 20 years. This is number five for both of us and is final. When people express shock or disapproval, we just shrug and say, "Sometimes you just gotta kiss a lot of frogs." We had a hot dog stand in Arizona, and a guy pulled in one day with Oregon plates and odered chow for his party. When I quoted the price, he informed me he was from Oregon and didn't pay sales tax. I told him that in Arizona, even the President would pay the tax. Oregon is a beautiful state, being just like Washington. Nice to see all that green that isn't paint. LOL
