Default Which permit? Utah or Florida?

Once I get my NY permit, I'd like to get a concealed carry permit that is recognized by multiple states. I like to travel and hunt and I'd like to take my pistol with me. Can anyone give me the pros and cons of getting a Florida vs a Utah permit? Which one would you suggest? Thanks.

First study the Reciprocity maps and compare. Since I think both permits are very similar, the next question would be "are my travels going to be in the east or west?". You will find that your NY permit is good in a lot of places.
    Good Luck!!!

Actually you will find your NY permit has you landlocked unless you only plan to travel to VT. Your going to need a permit from one of the states you mentioned read up on the requirements from each and determine what one(s) you qualify for I chose Fla. because of military training meets firearms course of instruction.

If choosing between UT and FL...many people get both...ask yourself one question...Do you want to carry in FL? If yes, then you HAVE to go with the FL license. FL accepts UT, but only if you are a UT resident.

PA is a good permit to get, and only $26.00. Florida gives you around 30 states. Utah gives you Washington where Florida does not. You need training with a certified Utah instructor where in Florida you can take an NRA course or a hunters ed course. Check out the reciprocity map.

Florida=117 bucks 7 years, NRA cert or DD214 if vet or current Mil ID ,It gets you KS where UT does not
UT-65 dollars or so, 5 years. need UT certified Instructor class which can run another 80 bucks or so. UT gets you MN and WA.

As stated if you travel to FL, get the FL permit. FL does not recognize non resident permits from any state

I went with Florida. You can go online and request an application for free. They cashed my check in 14 days, and i Had my permit in 21 days!!! Now I can carry in 30 states. (34 if I were a Florida resident)
