Default How Long Does It Take For Dutchees County To Process Concealed Carry Permits?

I have had my application in since may. When i took it in i was told to call after 6 months. At 6 months i called left a message. I have not received a call back and have called a few other times. Would it have anything to do with that two new county judges were elected this november. Anyone in dutchess have any ideas??

    Thanks,
    Rob

Default how long does it take?

Did you have any arrests disclosed on the application? Or maybe you had some mental health issues? Either of those would hold up your application and make it take longer. Be patient. :)

Last time I went to the DCSO to add a pistol onto my permit I asked how long the new applications were taking and was told "Between 9 to 12 months". It seems they have been deluged with applications and don't have the manpower to keep up. I would try calling again and very politely ask where in the stack you application is, Then thank them and just sit back and wait.

I wouldn't keep calling them. The problem was originally caused by staffing issues for state mental health checks. We found the state has added more staff and the application backlog is being worked. Dutchess still remains one of the best/easiest counties to get a CCW permit.

Great! you'll now need somewhere to shoot and many ranges are charging big bucks. C'mon over as our guest for some free time on our range in Orange County (Town of Newburgh). Have a look around. Four ranges and hundreds of acres of hunting lands await you. We offer unlimited range time, skeet and trap, targets & stands, steel plate shoots, (stocked) trout fishing - boats provided, (stocked) pheasant, deer and bear hunting. Nice lodge, lot's of food/parties - $110 per year for full access.
