NYS does not allow open carry. It is however done in a lot of rural areas but a LEO could ruin your day if he wants to.
I have a Delaware County Pistol Permit. It say's "License to Carry pistol is hereby granted." Restrictions, None.
I have read in other posts that you can not carry open. Yet my permit says no restrictions and the Delaware County pistol clerk told me I can carry how I want.
So which is it. Can I carry open or not? FYI. I do not believe in open carry and never open carry but some of my friends open carry all the time. Sorry if this is a repeat post just want clarification.
Thanks

Mulder:
It (your license) doesn't say you can't murder people either. But there are laws against it. The law also says you must carry concealed only. There are minor exceptions, hunting for one.
Mulder, good advice from other post. New York does not allow Open Carry......
Thanks for the clarification. I stay concealed anyway but some don't so now I know the answer for sure.
Thanks again.
