Do you have an agenda for the meeting? Is the range issue on early or late? any idea how long the village board meetings usually run?
Depew is a village that is partially in the town Cheektowaga and partially in the Town of Lancaster.
Yes the VFW is open to the public.
Transit Rd is the border. East Lancaster, west CHeektowaga.

I just checked the village website, there is nothing on it. I get the impression that this is the only thing on the agenda.
OK - looks like a planning board meeting instead of a village trustee meeting.
I called the village of Depew. A secretary in the mayor's office said there were just 2 items on the agenda for the planning board meeting on February 2nd. So it shouldn't be a long meeting.
She also said the planning board does take comments from the public at the meetings for items on the agenda.
Please, if you attend and are given the opportunity to address the planning board do not launch into a 2A dissertation. I can assure you that the 2A is not going to make a difference in their decision.
As the OP suggested, voice support based on your projected personal use of the proposed business and surrounding business (e.g., after a hour at the range my family and I usually go to a nearby restaurant etc...)
But "we need a gun range in Depew so we can exercise our 2A rights and protect ourselves from that muslim born in Kenya trying to impose health care on us..." probably won't help

Leaving for Depew in about 30 minutes.
The Planning Board passed the Business Plan by a vote of 4 to 1 in front of a Standing Room Only Crowd!
Quite a victory! It was nice meeting you golocx!
I really can't wait for this range. I would practice much more often if I had a range closer to home. This range would even be on my way to and from work!
Looks like the proposed range might get a financial boost from the Town - it is being considered as an alternative to building a town owned police training range.
Lancaster [police] shooting range project off the table [as town considers use of proposed private facility]
