You can carry it on your person or in your vehicle as long as its visible.

Why are you getting a Florida permit? What is wrong with North Carolina's CCW? I never understand why people want CCW's from other states when you are legal to carry in 30 plus states with a NC CCW! (By the way, welcome aboard, we are glad to have you).

Open carry in NC can get you charged with "Going Armed to the Terror of the Public."

In North Carolina, we are a common law state that allows open carry. It must be where it can be seen, not covered or concealed in any way. Vehicle, on seat or dash. Otherwise, the way the law is phrased, it must be inaccessible to occupants of vehicle.
    Hope this helps.

Welcome from SC, the first state to repeal a one-gun-a-month law.
