Once upon a time a neighbor told me that if you have x number of rounds stored at home you supposedly have an "arsenal" and are supposed to register that with the local PD. I have not been able to substantiate that claim in any form or fashion, does anybody know for sure?

One man's arsenal is another man's 'just getting started'. I love the stories where the MSM say a person had 2-3 weapons and a few hundred rounds and they call it a cache or arsenal. I think: "Beginner"...

Chuckle, nobody said this made any sense, I just want to know if it's true. Most gun laws don't really make much sense anyway.

Funny, but before I got into sport shooting, I would scratch my head at needing that much ammo. Even practicing at the range for self-defense purposes I'd normally only use 50-100 rounds. This afternoon I went through 250 in nothing flat at a sporting event, and easily could have expended 350 if I'd participated in everything available!

I've only got a couple hundred rounds left, time to stock up again! :-)

I burn that much on a weekend at the range.

But on the serious side. There is not statute that I know of in Texas that limit the amount of ammunition a civilian can store.

We called people like your nextdoor neighbor "Barracks Lawyers" when I was still in uniform. Nobody paid any attention to them because they were full of Toro Poopoo!

I'm just impressed that a lot of you have that much brass to burn along with the cash. I gotta be doing something wrong

I do believe that there are reg's concerning storing certain CLASS explosives/ammunition. No sure if it pertains to private ownership or not. Just my two cents.
