Who insures your guns? Spoke to my Home Owners Ins. and they don't cover guns.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I'm not sure. I would assume that it would be covered like any other possession, subject to deductible. Look in your policy for exceptions.
That said, you can get insurance for just about anything, if you ask the right insurance person. As your agent or if they are clueless, ask others agents for other companies.
A google search for "insurance or guns" and I found this: Safari Club International Insurance Programs
And just under that, State farm might not insure you if you do have guns but that was dated in 2000.
But if you're looking for insurance in case where you use your gun, that's a different ballpark. Your liability might no cover you there. In Texas you can get that kind of insurance - look for Texas Law Shield but they only insure if you live in Texas.
I had come across the same thing not too long ago. Here is the answer: NRA
If you are a member of the NRA, you can activate the insurance that they offer for your firearms. They will cover up to a certain amount.( not entirely sure on how much but you can go to the NRA website and get all the full info ) The insurance covers your firearms from theft , fire , flood , etc. If you have about a dozen or so normal priced firearms it is covered. If you have an extensive collection and it goes over the amount they cover for the FREE insurance . Then you can opt and pay a nominal fee and it will cover more. Go to the NRA website and get more info. Definitely worth doing.
Hope this helps
The NRA does if you're a member. And Nationwide Renter's insurance covers guns, so I would imagine their homeowners will as well.
State Farm is who my Home Owners Ins is through, and still today they will not cover guns.
I am looking at the Safari Club International link you provided, seems to be OK, have to do a little research on them and look at the application.
I am a NRA member, embarrassingly enough I totally forgot to look into their coverage.
Thanks for the info.

Most companies offer what they call Inland Marine policies or riders on Homeowners policies to cover guns at replacement cost. Also, most companies have at least $1,000 coverage for theft on a regular Homeowners policy. If you need a list of companies to contact I'd be happy to give you some names.
Experience: Currently and Insurance Agent
I am going to have to double check with state farm, they are who I have my ins through. My agent asked if I had any guns and even helped me value them so I would have the proper amount of coverage. He is a hunter. Would different states make a difference? I live in Nevada.
it definitely is different in each state as state law requires policies to be up each states dept of insurance standards. I would certainly imagine they have something they can do for you at State Farm to cover your firearms. If not let me know and I will dig a little deeper into the issue with a few contacts out there.
