Had a great training session last Saturday, and as of Monday the application is in. The whole local hospital mental heath check process is interesting, we sure didn't have to do that in Michigan.

Turned in my app 4/09, we'll see how Davidson county goes. Strong conservative county along with great GOP leaders at every level of local gov't. I've been told the wait is usually 45 days. Not really bothered about background checks. Nothing to hide just concerned about some "clerical error" posted on my record.

Congrats! When I got mine here in Forsyth, it was only 30 calendar days, I was shocked at how fast that was. Compared to Guilford county where it's taking 120 days or longer!!
Maybe Buncombe will surprise us.
Thanks Chris, already have a SC and Fla CWP but being a new resident to NC thought it prudent to be permitted in my new State of residence. (attached copied of both on my app) Had to surrender my SC CWP because I don't own property there anymore but that's OK. Just happy the process went smoothly. New State for me, new concerns about bureaucratic tape. Still not real happy about the power of the Sheriff has with no redress if denied. NOT that I'm worried about Davidson County, but for the over all State. TRUE Gov't should always have checks & Balances.
Oh yea, also love the open carry laws here. Fla & SC have very limited OC's statutes.

lincoln county has a 45 day manditory response law. they must issue or deny in that time frame.
I called today. They tell me it is being printed in Raleigh and will either be this week or next week, so about 60 days here in Buncombe County.
Permit now in-hand. 56 days.
