    Default Forgot to renew....

SO, I wasn't on top of things and only have myself to blame. My renewal date came and went and I just realized it. I can't find any info anywhere on if there's a "grace" period to get it renewed. Anyone know whether or not I can still renew a couple months after expiration, or did I just invite myself to go through the CC course and registration again?

    Thanks!

Give your local Sheriff a call if you live in NC. His office is the one that issues. You're probably SOL.

I did that here in Ohio last year. Felt naked walking around without my gun for three weeks. Didn't want to leave the house.

This is from the state of North Carolina on-line CCW FAQ.

"If the permittee does not apply to renew the permit prior to it's expiration date, but does apply to renew the permit within 60 days after the permit expires, the sheriff may waive the requirement of taking another firearms safety and training course."

Notice it says may. It is also stated elsewhere that the sheriff can require training prior to any renewal, so it seems to be up to the sheriff in question.
