I must not have gotten the memo on that, it's certainly nowhere in the Constitution. How far are we planning to take this? If I'm on welfare but I'm in my own house do I still lose my fourth amendment rights? What if I , out of the goodness of my heart, buy a pack of smokes and give it to a welfare case and it's found in their home? How ,exactly, does the state prove the cigarettes were purcahed W/ welfare funds? What is the punishment? Arrest for welfare fraud? Are you sure you want to OK random searches of people's homes by the State?

Well, I'm not for that! First of all, let them buy a lottery ticket. Heck, they might win and we don't have to support them any longer. LOL! As for smokes, I don't see a problem with that either. A BEER OR TWO NEVER HURT ANYBODY either.

Excuse me.. I thought it was HER responsibility to take care of her 12 kids...
IF she is suffering, then MAYBE she shouldn't of had 12 kids!!!!

I think children are a blessing of the Lord and each one is very special.. But I chose not to have more than one kid. There is nothing wrong with having 2 or 4 or 8 kids if you want, but they are YOUR responsibility.

On a side note.. I'm Assuming she is already getting Welfare for each of the 12 kids and food stamps and Section 8.. So where did all that $$$ go each month???

I'm not sure WHY you think this is Trash.. It is based on a News story that was carried locally in my area.. They seemed to think it was news worthy, and they review many stories that never make it "on the air".

So, as to your threat... If everyone does not adhere to YOUR standards of posting topics, you are going to pack up and leave..

For the record I do not work for any drug company and have no financial interest in providing contrceptive technology to people on wellfare beyond that of the average tax payer who has to foot the bill. That being said I do have extensive knowledge of the Norpant contrceptive implant from having done research papers on it for two different classes. (I killed two birds with one slug of 50AE. ) One of the issues brought up in the Catholic Church's Anti-Norplant crusade was the safety of the device and the chemicals it introduced. The Norplant contraceptive implant consists of six sylastic rods that contain the contraceptive chemicals and release them over a 5 1/2 year period providing an effectiveness of 99.6% durring the first five years. The active ingredient, Levonorgestel a synthetic progesterone-like hormone acts in three ways to prevent pregnancy. The active ingredient is also aproved for a handful of other contrceptive aplications, including Capronor (Basically a 6 month norplant), Depo Provera (a monthly injecteable contraceptive), and most recently Plan-B (the emergency contrceptive pill), in addition it is aproved for some hormone therapy programs. If the chemicals in the device are that dangerous, why would the FDA have approved the main active ingredient for several other applications? Another issue brought up was possible increases in rates of Hepatitis-B transmitiion among users of the device. Also a logical deadend as the physician installing the device is supposed to test for liver diseases, there is also a Hep-B vaccine that for some reason is not administered more widespreadly. Clearly the Catholic Church had no medical reason for objecting to the program, they just wanted to push their religious worldview onto others.

For the record I have a serious problem with a Church that was setup by Nazis, condones sexual assault on children, and allows holocaust denyers to be Bishops to tell me how the welfare system in this country should not be reformed.

For folks on welfare with multiple kids? YEAH, I'm OK with it. In fact, I'm past OK. I'd like to mandate that it happen if I had the power. BUt WHAT are you going in to search for? THAT is the BIG question. I wouldn't be in favor of going in to ransack the place. That's not right either. But a simple walk-thru to make sure the kids are OK, and the place is in order and not trashed, YEAH, I'm for that.
