Yea... Take away mans right to defend himself from those who would choose to prey on him and that's what you get. The law abiding citizens are unable to live in peace. Big problem with this.
People got upset when the Army helped the local Sheriff and PD after the shooting outside Ft. Rucker, AL
Create a crisis by taking away the means for the citizens to defend themselves then answer the crisis with a predetermined solution to the contrived crisis.

Military could quell violence in Chicago The military is restricted from enforcing civilian law by the Posse Comitatus Act.As has been mentioned, the military got into trouble helping county and municipal police during a hunt for a serial killer in Alabama. The city of Chicago should soon be able to come to some resolution of their restrictive gun regulations with Mayor Daley leaving office. He has definitely been against ownership/concealed weapon carry. With luck, his replacement will think and act more in accord with the citizens of Chicago .
One (or many) can hope for (dare I write it?) "Progress and Change"...
