If you understood what the Bible has to say about these issues, you would understand that is a man thing, not a God thing. The Bible does warn us about these evil men that make merchandise of the church. It goes on to tell what their judgement will be as well. And I wasn't laying down the smack on C&L. If anything, I was agreeing with him after the release of the Dave Wood's a liar videos. Based on those vids, either the police had ample cause to roust them even from outside the festival grounds due to past trouble-making, or the missionaries were liars because they did go back inside the festival grounds to cause trouble after being rousted.
Either way, by act and deed, they showed themselves to be instigators.

That's kinda what I thought. JJ just seems so focused on turning anything he can against me, apparently for some personal reason. I suppose it's difficult to grasp complex issues like this with limited mental bandwidth clouded by FUD and religion.
Interesting, the tactic often repeated, the classic divide and conquer. What can they say privately that doesn't hold up in public? That's an easy one I'll leave to the imagination.

The funny thing is, and what many of you I'm sure don't see is I fully respect and support the theme presented at the beginning of this thread: Every American citizen's Constitutional rights. Furthermore, I am a conservative, retired military member of 51 years age who has been in various government-sponsored hellholes around the world most of that career, defending those rights. I've been around the block once or twice and may actually be more like you in thought and spirit than you would like to believe.
What I abhor however, is those Constitutional rights sullied by charlatans that would use them as a front for deception and furtherance of religious intolerance. That is despicable by any conscionable standard. I merely want to get people seeing the truth. Just be advised that If you don't agree on that basic premise, you can rest assured you have a formidable foe in me, personally.

I gladly give my tithes and offerings to the good work of God, but I would never give my money to a false prophet. That is what I was referring to. By the way, I literally have received more monetarily from the Lord than I have ever given Him. You simply cannot out give God. In any case, unlikely you will be convinced, but take a look at what God has to say about false prophets.
II Peter CHAPTER 2
BUT there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

By the way, God needs nothing from us at all, He already owns it. Giving of our tithes and offerings is simply acknowledging He is our Lord and Saviour. Nevertheless, not likely I will convince you of any of this. So be it.
At this point I really just have genuine questions. How can God "expect nothing" from us, yet desire acknowledgment? Isn't that contradictory? And then why would God want/need to be worshiped in the first place? If you're an omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent being, why would it matter if a few mere mortals worshiped you or not? And then what about the people (like my example of the Amazon tribe whose members go their whole lives without outside contact) who never get the opportunity to hear the word of Jesus? Do they go straight to hell? They technically didn't accept the word of Christ. Is there a verse that exempts people like this?
Dear Midnight, actually great question, I didn't expect that. First, God deals with us because He loves us, pure and simple. Man stuck in his sins holds onto money tighter than about anything else. Giving unto the Lord that which belongs to Him in the first place is a test of our faith, not God's. It is also one way for God to show His promises to us.
John 3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Also stated in Romans:
Romans 2:14For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and [their] thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
Yes, the conscience is a gift from God that gives an internal compass on right and wrong. I could go on, but God has and does reach out to every person every where. Can you be righteous by accusing God of unrighteousness?
