I would like to offer my sincere apologies to this group for my conduct in the “Say No” thread.

I ignored my own advice & allowed my ego to cloud my better judgment. Now I feel soiled & ashamed of my conduct.

Boomer, this is a very positive gesture.
I am not sure what you did wrong.

Many of us have very strong feelings about the nation of Islam, and the other topic, the stars and bars flag.

I have said it before, topics such as politics and religion cause problems.

If I have personally offended anyone with my viewbpoints, I am sorry. Almost nothing I say here is directed at a personal levell.

All I can say is that after reading the posts of pewbs, that he be thrown off this list and not allowed to return even if someone complains that he is misunderstood or whatever. His post 257 I beleive, is disgusting, vile, inappropriate to any site lest it be pornographic and fianally, anyone that supports his so called right to say what he did should be thrown off too, again, and forever.
BTW Boomer, maybe I missed it, but didnt see anything out of you that even came close to the tripe I saw from others.

The thread was hijacked by the individual who was of course looking for the fight. Some were happy to oblige. We all had some degree of inclusion..

However, the topic of discussion in the thread in question degraded from opinions regarding religion and misinterpretation of symbols to imaginary images of someone with their fist... I'll stop here. Anyone interested in reading the rantings go find the thread. I'll refrain from propagating the filth and ire.

MOJO, While I disagree with censorship, I believe your opinion would be best suited for this situation. I do recall his being banned before. 2 strikes is enough. I don't believe he has any valuable knowledge regarding firearms. If that is a measure of worth for the sake of being a site member. Perhaps I'm being presumptuous? It's my opinion so no facts being stated here, no FUD.. I believe he has only strong opinions and the urge of youth to simply scream them as loudly as possible for all to hear.

Back to Boomer. Consider the apology accepted. In the future perhaps we could be a support system for each other and remind one another of this incident. When the thread begins to derail simply jump off... JUMP!!! and it's ended...

I don't think you did anything wrong. As far as letting your temper get you I kinda did the same thing on that thread. Besides, we all know why "Pewbs" was here. His choice of a username speaks to his maturity. He brought nothing of value to the discussion. Personally I'm amazed he went as long as he did without being banned but I know the moderators have to have set rules for things like that.

We don't need to ban topics as some have said (though not here - when I wrote this I thought I saw that idea above). We need restraint and maturity. If you don't like a topic, don't read it. If you don't like religion, stay out of the religion threads. If you don't like 1911s, you're a commun..... just kidding , but stay out of the 1911 threads. If you disagree, state your case. If you can't do that without acting like an immature child (exhibit 1 - our banned friend) then leave and come back when you have grown up.

Boomer I didn't see anything really wrong in your posts. Sometimes I have to take a break before responding to a particular post because of it's content, or because of personal attacks on posters. Discussing a subject is a great way to learn be it politics, religion or any other subject. It's those who simply resort to attacks without posting a rebuttal argument and back up that sometimes makes it difficult. Hope to read some more of your posts.

You do realize Mom that you were probably the most Conservative one in the pile up....

We all need to remember that this is a meeting place for those of us with concern over issues that affect our country and our rights, hence we all need to act as responsible adults, after all bottom line we all are basically on the same side here....

But damn it is very hard at times not to let the screaming 3 year old that resides deeply inside us all out....
