Im down with that.
This could apply to all states!
All I can say is, "AMEN!" and God Bless Texas!
This was in the Waco Tribune Herald, Waco , TX
Put me in charge . . .
Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for
Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans,
blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want
steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.
Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get women
Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligations. Then, we'll test
recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine and document all tattoos and
piercings. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, smoke or get
tats and piercings, then get a job.
Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks?
You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your
"home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be
inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your
own place.
In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or
you will report to a "government" job. It may be cleaning the roadways of
trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We
will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo
and speakers and put that money toward the “common good.”
Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of
the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules.. Before
you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self esteem,"
consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for
doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.
If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least
attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system
rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.
AND While you are on Gov’t subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes that is
correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will
voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov’t
welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.

Im down with that.
You have just increased crime by 1000%
Plus most of them don't vote so that does nothing and how will you pay the people checking on everyone. Personally I think we need people living off of us so people that want to work and be sucessful can and always have a living reminder of unaceptable life forms. But on a good note gun sales will go up.
Works for me. GOD BLESS TEXAS!Originally Posted by Oldgrunt:217194

I wish someone would post the original author of this piece I've seen it posted on several different websites but never saying who wrote it originally w/o credit to the author it's plagiarism. But I agree with it for the most part, if we got the gov't to scale down it's size and interference in our daily lives this country could grow again. Right now we've got a bunch of socialist one world gov't types running the country. Socialism is a failed expoeriment that the progressive think can work with them in charge. Gun control is a socialist idea that isn't about reducing crime but rather about controlling the people.
"Get a job." That's a great idea. I've been trying for over two years now to do just that. Can't even get hired as seasonal help at a Walmart warehouse. Where are all these jobs you want everyone to get?
And how do you figure its legal or moral to tie one's suffrage to one's employment, when people have little actual control over their employment?
So how will that work? If dad loses his job and draws welfare or unemployment, will his kid in college also lose her right to vote?
I posted this very same article on FB months ago. Even though I agree with it, I still want to respond to Pnnacle Safety
( Solution ?

what ever happen to personal responsibility. If we take away all the things mentioned in the ad, you say that crime will increase by 1000%. let me ask you. Are the responsible people supposed to just sit back and keep paying for people who don't care about themselves or anyone else around them?
I understand the economy is hard, and even the responsible people are having employment problems. however, business as usual is just not working and something has got to change. What? that is the question. But you can’t finish unless you start.
