Occupy Wall Street - Very Off Topic of guns

The Occupiers are little more than the latest group to play the blame-game. On another site I saw somebody sum-up the typical Occupier:

Slept through high school and got Cs.
If they bothered to continue their education in some way it was for a liberal arts degree or something of the sort.
Works Mon thru Fri 9-5 with lots of smoke breaks.
Wonders why they don't have a 6-figure salary.
Blames the system.

The occupy crowd is bitting the hand that feeds them. Who is going to pay the bills when all the capitalists are gone? They should be marching on Washington, pushing for laws that reward productivity so there will be more money for the all caring democrats to have at their disposal to shell out to the nonproductive occupy crowd.

If we accept the common definition of capital as "productive wealth," would we consider crooked bankers to be capitalists? I would not. I consider these Wall Street oligarchs to be thieves and I don't consider thieves to be productive members of society, let alone "capitalists." These creeps own the White House, and they own most of the legislative branch as well (with several notable exceptions). The only thing Wall Street has created is massive debt that will burden several generations of our citizens, some of whom are among those protesting.

How massive?

According to the Congressional Budget Office's, our government expects to incur $9 trillion in new debt over the coming decade. Let's think about how big this really is... Consider the dollars as seconds. If we went back in time 9 *million* seconds, it would take us back 108 days. 9 *billion* seconds would take us back 270 years. 9 *trillion* seconds would take us back 288,000 YEARS. That, on an economic level, is just how screwed we are.

I won't get started on how screwed we are in terms of our rights and civil liberties (Patriot Act, Posse Comitatus, etc.), but I will suggest that anyone who thinks that there is a shred of difference between the Democrat and Republican parties is a sheep.

OWC seems to be a group composed of individuals with a wide range of views and proposed "solutions" but I'm one of the 53% with a job, so I don't have time to join in, but I am paying *very* close attention through a number of means and I would suggest that we all do this. Don't let any media outlet do your thinking for you. I would be interested in what other folks have seen directly for themselves from anyone involved in any of the Occupy movements.

I'm afraid this is not an Ayn Rand novel. Sadly, there's no Galt's Gulch. I would suggest that it's closer to "It Can't Happen Here" by Sinclair Lewis. If folks have not read that, I recommend it.

Sounds like me but I make 6 figures. But I guess I'm not protesting. But I may not agree with what they are doing I understand there is alot of corruption that need to be fixed. Main thing is if we support USA goods when we can thing will change no matter what political side you stand on plain and simple. We use to have jobs..HERE

Why is it that every time someone says that we're screwed or there's no way out, someone has to ask,or start accusing them of giving up? Really, just because someone has the "intelligence" to recognize the truth doesn't mean that there willing to give up. Ever heard of the Alamo? It may not do any good to resist and go into battle, but it doesn't mean we're not going to go down fighting and take as many of them with us as we can in the process. "Give me liberty or give me death", remember? Whether it's global or national, everything is going to get worse, nothing is going to get better. Like I've said before, be it the secular view or the Biblical view, both coincide with current events on every level and degree of perplexity, including the time frame. Admitting that we're screwed doesn't mean we give up, it just means that we're not ignorant or just plain stupid. There's a big difference between negative thinking and facing the facts of reality.

There's no rhyme or reason except for it being a socialist labor movement. The root of every Socialist nation was a Socialist/Communist Labor Movement, this is no different. Nothing was broken in this country until the government got involved to fix it. Government regulation "only" is responsible for the mess we're in, it's all part of their NWO/Global Agenda. The problem isn't that everything is out of control, quite to the contrary, the problem is "those in control". The protesters are "useful idiots", period.

I know this may be a little off topic for the discusion, but I have always wondered why smokers expect everyone to accomidate them whenever they feel like smoking. Smokers can take work breaks with the excuse, "I am going to go smoke." And seem to get a pass on it. I can get through a shift of 6 to 12 hours without drinking a single can of beer, why can't most smokers get through three measley hours? Smokers also get realy rude if someone interupts their "smoke break".

Smokers also liter, and if they can't find an ashtray will use whatever they feel like to ash in, soup bowls, coffee cups, flower pots, et cetera. Hey dude, if you can't find an ashtray maybe that's a sign you shouldn't be smoking.

As for Occupy, how come they don't occupy a job? Saw one yesterday outside the local Starbucks. Had a 99% sticker on his car window while sitting in his car using an I PAD with a blue tooth in his ear. YEA-Baby, love them gadgets, gotta have the best technology but dam those evil corporations that make them. HUH??? Wonder what teat he is fed from. Sure as hell ain't from his own productivity.
