Yeah, this one pops up about every 3-4 months.
Yes, a man tried to steal a laptop from a Best Buy in Augusta, GA. Yes, there were Marines collecting for TFT outside the store. Yes, CPL Duggan clotheslined 39-year-old Tracey Attaway, who was then subdued by some of the other Marines as well as BB LP personnel. Yes, Duggan was stabbed in the process. He received stitches and was treated/released.
No, Attaway wasn't injured enough either during his attempted escape or while being subdued to receive any treatment anywhere. He ended up being sentenced to life in prison, based on the charges here (armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a knife in the commission of a crime) and 30 previous felonies.
I think we need to raise the curbs around all such establishments. Also doesn't hurt to have a fine group of citizens around to assist.
