Hey mappow and FN: There is a considerable difference, to say the least, between sitting at a computer with nothing better to do and walking around with a firearm strapped to your waist. I certainly get your point about patience and the old "sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never harm me" adage, but the comparison is reaching a bit. This should also be true of your everyday comings and goings. When you are CC, I would hope you are also more tolerant when driving, standing in line, dealing with idiot people etal. Witnesses can always say that you were the instigator if things like road rage should become a more real and tragic scenario. With CC comes a big responsibility and for me it turns a crabby old man into a kindly saint of a person who keeps his real feelings and desires in check as he deals with the idiots around him.

I really hope you are correct and if someone does not realize the difference they have no business with a gun. There are too many people walking around that are unable to walk away from any comment that they consider an insult no matter how it is intended. I don't know for sure that there is any correlation between how people act on the Internet and in real life but I suspect that it is similar.

As I have said before there just appears that too many people are walking around searching for an excuse to use their gun rather than waiting for an actual need to use it.

Why do I use the "ignore" option?? Because I can.

If life had an ignore option that would keep real BGs and annoying people away from me like this one does, I'd use it in a heartbeat and so would everyone else. I'm entirely patient when dealing with people face-to-face because that's the best option available to me. I can't just make them disappear like I can on this site.

And then right after that maybe he'll create a section for those posters who're so petty and sniping that they try to make the use of the ignore option into some sort of character flaw.

Just like rolling up your car window when a thug-wannabe pulls up next to you with blasting music that you don't want to listen to, "ignore" simply makes it easier and more convenient to pay attention to more important things. Like watching grass grow.
