Then what's the point of me wasting time and money by waiting in line at a post office when I simply could have sent him a business check he could have walked into any Bank of America and cashed? BOA's are everywhere and they certainly won't cash a check with unavailable funds from the bank it was drawn on.

I have to agree on this one. First, "priority mail" isn't all that fast. If you sent it overnight express, that would have gotten to him the next day.

Secondly - I used to exclusively use my work address for eBay and other online transactions. It was easier to receive a package there, than at my apartment complex (where I have a teeny 3"x4" mail slot). It had the added advantage of keeping a potentially dishonest seller or buyer from knowing where I live.

Lastly, as wallyb said - there is a LOT of money order fraud out there. Chances are, once he's been paid, he will ship the gun as promised.

So quit complaining, and be patient! :P

You'd have had the same issue. Bank check fraud is common too.

Have you seen the quality of work a $300 photo printer can do?

This is one of the reasons that if they don't take PayPal I don't buy over the internet. Just too many people out there looking for a way to scam you. You have no recourse whatsoever sending him a postal MO, and the longer he delays you the colder the trail becomes.

Yeah, I get that, but sending him a check, I would have expected a delay and I wouldn't have had to stand in line at the PO. I always use the self serve kiosk for priority mail. I wasn't talking about a bank check, I said business check. When you bring a check to the bank it was drawn on, they check funds.

And priority mail got it there in two days but his mailroom is the one that slowed it down, so unbelievably, priority mail did it's job.

I just got an email from him and he is sending me a 50 box of Lawman rounds to make up for it.

    Now I'll stop complaining:):):)

I'm just one of those 'instant gratification' type guy's and if things worked as planned, I would have picked the gun up on Tuesday. As it stands, it probably won't be till Friday now.

I just need to vent, and vent I did.:):):)

If he does not ship... you now have U.S. Postal Inspectors on your side. You are using a USPS Money Order and have transmitted it via USPS mail system. I believe this becomes mail fraud. Postal Inspectors are very parochial about mail fraud. You do not have this advantage on a bank check. Hopefully you indicated on the MO what it was for.

Yes I did. I never really considered it not being shipped. The time factor was what I was bitching about:)

Just what I was thinking, I work for USPS just call your local Postal Inspectors in a week or two if you have not received the firearm.

Personally I wouldn't send anything until I had the money in hand.

For all the seller knows the envelope may only contain a newspaper clipping.
