    Default Change 2nd amendment?

    I remember being taught in school, many years ago, that the Bill of Rights was so called because these ten amendments could never be changed. I have believed that all these years, but now as I look for where the Constitution says that, I can't find it. And actually, if we have learned anything in the last three decades, we should certainly have understood that even if that is true, those who hate these rights will stop at nothing to take them away. They would throw out the whole constitution if they could, and write one more to their liking. They will infringe the rights they can't change, and they will change (read:destroy)anything we let them change. Stay on your guard; watch and pray! The enemies of freedom, from within and without, never rest. The modern invading hordes of vandals are armed with college degrees instead of axes, and they aren't shy about using them.

    I like how the author makes multiple false assumptions and slurs. He claims to be highly educated but, besides listing actual classified offerings, offers no facts or sources for his claims. First he insults: “paranoiacs in bib overalls.” He also implies that only "card carrying liberals" hold advanced degrees. With KGB/Deloris Umbridge finesse for spreading misinformation, he and the "Brady-Bunch" claim that the record gun sales aren't indicative of a massive number of new gun owners but rather a few "enthusiasts" gathering enough weapons each to arm a small country. Even if they were using facts rather than propaganda, it is none of their business. Period. And they call us paranoid. It is the height of paranoia to project your fear into others' houses. What would you propose, Send the National Guard on a house to house search, violating our other Constitutional amendments? This paranoid statist is also implying that the world around us is perfectly safe and there is no need to own a gun to protect yourself. What can I say? Pure idiocy. The truth, you over-educated-paranoid-idiot is that the economy sucks, the world economy and political sphere are in turmoil and statists like you are trying, through the tried and true ends-justify-the-means tactics, to violate our right as free men to protect ourselves and our family. You, my friend are a large part of the cause of the proliferation of the guns you so hate.

    I believe you are referring to The Declaration of Independence: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, ...". Our Rights are truths, given by our Creator, neither to be given by men, nor taken away by men.
    I don't recall the Founder that quoted this (probably Thomas Jefferson): "Those who beat their guns into plowshares, shall plow for those that don't". Hope he is successful in trying to beat an AK-47 into an Amish plowshare. He obviously knows nothing about either one.

    Though I lived in a rural area most of my life, I never felt the need to carry a gun in those environs, nor did I wear bib overalls (not that there's anything wrong with that). Now that I live in a major metro area, I NEVER leave home without my CCW. I hear about shootings, rapes, robberies, etc. on the local news every day. Sometimes I wake to the sound of gunshots.

    This guy is a tool.

    I wouldn't even let him buy one of my AKs if he was going to turn it into a plowshare. Well.....maybe if he offered me a ridiculous amount of money.......I'd consider it!

    So, this contest ended on December 31st, and he only posted his article on the 29th. The winner was NWR1, although I have no idea if that is or is not him.

    (That also means you can safely click his link - it won't do anyone anything, since they use a different referral link each month; clicking that link doesn't even increase his odds of winning one of this month's hats.)

    I found the article mildly amusing. It actually is in the humor section, I suppose. Of course the statement that the second is obsolete is rather delusional. Maybe the author lives in a town where there never ever is any violence but for those of us that live on planet Earth that isn't exactly so.
