That seems kind of excessive. Sorry to hear. Is there anything you can do to get it back?
Hi Guys.
My employers at GunSafes.com and RockwellArms.com just terminated my contract for using the word "gun porn" in a Tweet referring to SHOT Show pictures.
Anyone need a good social media manager?

Does seem excessive, huh? Oh well, there's nothing I can do. I was fired via e-mail, and sent a reply clearly citing the fallacies Mr. Marks presented, but I don't think I'll hear back.

Um, wow... Was this a personal or a professional Tweet? If personal, is your account sufficiently identified with you to link to your work for them? (i.e. is your Twitter account under your real name?) That seems insanely harsh. Especially from companies such as those!
(Along that line, it always surprises me the puritanical types who think that a visible breast while breast-feeding is obscene and must be banned in public places - yet they let their kids watch violence with no qualms - and often have no problem with general misogyny such as at "Hooters" restaurants.)
For starters, I'd say watch what you say on public forums about the situation. It may be salvageable.
OTT, the usual advice: update resume/LinkedIn, etc. Check Mashable's listings, etc.
Good luck.
Oh, also, I can write like mad, edit, teach, do light renovation and woodworking, make art, design things, organize like mad, and pretty much anything other than TIG welding and piloting aircraft.

No Charon, it was a professional Tweet. Something along the lines of "Here's some gun porn for ya" with a pic attachment from SHOT Show. They also cited two other reasons, both of which I refuted and replied with e-mail proof. I think it was just the "gun porn" thing that really pissed them off. Which to me warrants a talking-to, not firing. But oh well.
I'm just hoping someone on this forum might know someone who could use a firearms writer.
